Anaëlle

Anaëlle is a lovable and big-hearted person, but be careful: her stress level can be very contagious! This helps her do an extraordinarily-detailed job and we love her for that… but you may want to stay clear of her when approaching iGEM deadlines.

linkedin

Basma

Don’t be fooled by Basma’s apparent shyness (but high efficiency) at the lab: one party with her and you’ll never forget it: but don’t worry, it’s part of her lovable charm... She’s as invested in partying, as she is in making sure our tool is fully characterized.

linkedin

Cassie

Even though Cassie arrived and joined our team a little later on, she has been a valuable asset to our project. She has become an absolute fan of Biorender, so please don’t criticize the aesthetic of our Instagram posts, because even if she seems sweet she could easily lash out.

linkedin

Elise

Elise is a very meticulous person, and everything she does ends up being perfect. However, she’s unable to do so without complaining and compulsively criticizing everything we do (but if you’re lucky, she can give out positive feedback). If our promotional video is flawless, it’s thanks to her 156 comments.

linkedin

Guillaume

Guillaume is a fun person to work with in the lab and you can be guaranteed a laugh during the day. But if you want him to be on time, be sure to count an extra 15 minutes (even though he apparently always leaves “on time”).

linkedin

Laia

Laia, a proud Catalan, has an extraordinary assertiveness, which are big assets to our team, but also a very infectious laugh which can be a problem when trying to concentrate… Her voice is more enjoyable to hear when she’s pronouncing FIAT LUX in Spanish, than when she’s complaining about the failed experiments.

linkedin

Léa

Léa is the type of person who has to keep busy and is always running around (literally) trying to keep up with all of her activities, so don’t expect her to spend more time at the lab than on the football field. However, she’s always able to find time for iGEM and get things done efficiently.

linkedin

Madeleine

Madeleine is so focused, nothing can ever distract her from her goals, not even being a thousand kilometers away. She has all the qualities of a good leader, except having rock-solid patience when dealing with cig breaks. Oh, and don’t ask her to leave for a congress the morning after partying ever again.

linkedin

Manon

Manon is a highly competitive person, and sets the bar very high for the bioinformatics team. She’s truly her own opponent and it may seem like nothing could scare her… but you can be sure she would never dare set foot in the lab.

linkedin

Marianne

Not everyone could afford to invest themselves in so many teams (and projects), but Marianne is able to do this so effortlessly. However, please don’t ever get her started on the modeling part of the project, because you may never hear the end of it.

linkedin

Marine

Marine is a specialist in bioinformatics, and a good one at it too! But she has found herself a new passion for the wet lab, thanks to iGEM. She would have considered changing her specialty, if it didn’t involve pouring plates almost all day long…

linkedin

Mathilde

A frustrated artist with a critical eye for every single detail, Mathilde invests all her energy into this project. So much so, she might even miss a factor 10… Make no mistake about her cute facade, as she easily accumulates rage: we’re sometimes scared for her computer…

linkedin

Solène

A procrastination queen, Solène always seems to get things done (but people may have to do them for her). In truth, administrative stuff is not her forte, but once she puts her mind to something you can be sure it will be immaculate.

linkedin

Théo

What can’t Théo do? He has 1000 ideas per minute, and we don’t understand how his brain hasn’t already exploded. But you need a Théo on your team: his hyperactivity has driven us to propel our project as far as possible.

linkedin

Tom

Tom may be the most laid-back and calmest person you could meet. We don’t think we’ve ever seen him get mad, despite failed experiments… But if you want to hear his voice go up by a few decibels, tell him that vegan cakes suck.

linkedin

Agnès

Agnès is at the origin of the creation of our team! She is also a research-professor at INSA Lyon, specialized in microbiology. Beware: she works so much, you may need to plan a meeting with her two weeks in advance…

linkedin

Erwan

Erwan gave us the most relevant and accurate scientific background to start our project. He is a research-professor at Lyon 1 University, also specialized in microbiology. Make sure you know what you’re doing before asking him a question, or he’ll tweet about it!
