After a year of pure hardwork and dedication, our team was awarded the second place of the undergraduate competition, out of 190 incredible teams! This was absolutely unexpected and we are extremely proud of the work and results we achieved. We never thought that we would have gone so far in the competition, and this is only possible thanks to our sponsors and the help of many different people, who are all named on the Attributions and Sponsors page. Thank you!
We also won Best “Food and Nutrition” project out of 28 undergraduate and overgraduate teams! This was also completely unexpected, and we would like to congratulate all “Food and Nutrition” teams for their astounding work.

This prize is awarded to the team that has developed an essential piece of hardware for synthetic biology, making synthetic biology more accessible to our community!
The Best Composite Part awards the team that has developed a new and essential BioBrick device, by combining existing BioBrick Parts.
This prize is awarded to the team that has strived to develop new opportunities to include more people in shaping synthetic biology and establish a two-way dialogue with new communities by discussing public values and the science behind synthetic biology.
The Best Presentation should be clear, visually appealing, engaging, to communicate the project to a broad audience.
This award honors the team wiki that exemplifies what the following year’s Wikis should strive for.

On top of this, our team was awarded the gold medal for meeting the necessary criteria of the iGEM competition, and for showing excellence!
This iGEM competition was an extraordinary adventure, and we have learned so much. We want to thank iGEM for giving us this opportunity: we have understood the importance of synthetic biology in tackling global issues, one local problem at a time. We hope that our work will help address the worldwide challenge of food security, and will also be helpful to inspire future iGEM teams. Through this adventure and the experience we gained, we will strive to promote synthetic biology, and its potential through the iGEM competition. We want to show students how they can use their knowledge in synthetic biology and engineering to address global questions, as they are the future leaders of the domain.
