As we are trying to solve the diagnostic problem of Echinococcosis with synthetic biology method, the communication between us iGEMers and stakeholders, public and professionals plays a vital role throughout the whole year of our work. We collected opinions on problems that need to be solved and from which aspect we design our kit may be better from the very beginning, gathered information we need to improve our design to make it more useful.

Not only our project requires communication with people, knowledge of parasitic disease including Echinococcosis and synthetic biology need to be spread. We wanted people to raise their awareness to parasitic disease due to how harmful it can be as a concern of global public health. On the other hand, we also hope that more people, especially young students know more about what synthetic biology is and become interested in it. Thus, we have gone beyond the lab, communicated with people both online and offline and held education activities.
