Educational centers

We are dedicated to carry out informative talks in different educational centers of our city (Malaga) to bring synthetic biology closer to the students. The talks were given in a range of courses from 8 to 18 years, being adapted to the level of each one. In these talks, experiments were made to accompany the presentations, making them more enjoyable and awakening the interest of the students who listened to them.

In addition to these talks in educational centers, we gave talks at the University of Malaga in the degrees of Biology and Biochemistry to give visibility in our university environment to iGEM projects and show the basis of our project.

Other activities

To bring synthetic biology closer to the general population, we conducted an interview in a regional media (Canal Sur), in which we presented our project and talked about the possibilities of synthetic biology, bringing science to the home of many citizens.

We participated in national congresses such as the CEEBI (State Congress of Students in Bioscience) and the SEBBM (Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) congress, where we were able to present our project to professionals in our sector. As well as in the European Researchers Night, where we had the opportunity to present our project in a workshop in one of the main streets of Malaga.

We have also been active in social networks, uploading popular science posts, dealing with topics related to synthetic biology and science in general, trying mostly to create a simple content that brings our followers closer to the molecular techniques we do.
