Description

During our project, each member participated in the literature search and attended brainstorming sessions to decide on the right scientific idea that contributes to the welfare of both our community and worldwide. Moreover, all of us have taken tours to seek funds from international and national companies. Afterward, we divided the work into three parts: dry lab, wet lab, and creative team.

PIs

Prof.Dr. Faten Nour Eldin

Professor of Analytical Chemistry, our PI, helped us in every step.

Starting from the registration in iGEM and introducing us to our faculty professors and convincing the authorities of our idea

Pushing our jamboree registration till the last day.

Prof.Dr. Ahmed Abdo el Sherif

Dean of our faculty and Professor of Bioinorganic Chemistry

Our secondary PI who supported us during our journey and convinced the university of our idea.

Instructor

Ahmed Maher

He helped through the fundraising process

Covered all the paperwork and logistics, revised the proposal and contract terms of our sponsors

Established the event and awareness campaigns, and brainstormed design ideas

Lina Mohamed

The one who started it all, missing something? Just call Lina, and describe the one who helped us from the start in two sentences.

Lina was a team member of the CU team in 2019.

At the time of the pandemic, when a whole semester was canceled from our syllabus, She stepped in and helped us learn the basics of molecular and synthetic biology.

She pushed us to start at a very hard time worldwide and put us on the right way toward the best adventure in our life. Not to mention her role afterward as our instructor.

She is certainly our savior, always there to provide a missing reagent.

Menna Mahmoud

They call them supervisors; she is our superwoman.

Menna was also a team member of the CU team in 2019, and she is a teaching assistant in our faculty.

Crossing paths with her is the best thing that happened to us; we wouldn’t have been where we are today without her.

We learn something from her every day in every aspect of iGEM, starting from the brainstorming, Wet lab, and Dry lab to even preparing for the Jamboree closing ceremony.

It is not just about giving you what you ask for; she always knows how to push you to grow, learn and get to the thing you want.

Mentors

Dr. Hatem Abdelrahman

Our mentor and one of the iGEM ambassadors, and a pioneer in the Engineering committee.

Wet Lab

The team that performed every step to prove our concept with experimental design starting from part suspension to each part characterization.
