Meet Danielle, who’s in her fourth year of Biomedical Sciences. After accidently letting maggots grow on her fruit at home she was inspired to create Cellucoat. She brought her (10) dogs to the lab once and sometimes she’ll send her twin to work too (not Marian, her other twin). If you like Taylor Swift, there’s a 99% chance Danielle will befriend you.

Our next wetlab member is Marian, who’s in her third year of Biomedical Sciences. She is the absolute angel of our lab - well, at least until she sees a pipette or beaker put back in the wrong spot (this is true). We’re pretty sure Marian’s ideal day is spent having brunch in the park and going to a cute coffee shop, but researching bioplastics is a close second.

Meet Naureen, who’s in her fifth year of Cellular Molecular and Microbial Biology, and History. She does MMA, so dont get her excitedled in the wrong way or she might threaten you to do her miniprep. We’re also pretty sure she’s spilt coffee or ice cream in her car every morning during iGEM.

Say hi to Zainab, who’s in her second year of Biomedical Sciences. Her favorite activity is writing competitive analyses - other than iGYM of course. Don’t ask Zainab about the time she set the lab on fire, but DO ask about her secret hack for thawing reagents faster. If you're lucky, she'll make you an Among Us-themed powerpoint.

Presenting, Ziyad, who’s in his second year of Cellular Molecular and Microbial Biology. Although he set himself on fire twice, he makes tasty fruit waste media for our bacteria (we’re quite confident that he drank it). He might offer to bench press you or make you become a JPEGMafia fan, so approach him at your own risk.

Next we have Tithi, who’s in her third year of Cellular Molecular and Microbial Biology. If you ask her about spiderman she’ll probably convince you to let her genetically engineer your cells and become part spider. It’s also a good idea to feed Tithi spicy chips and candy before a DNA digest if you want it completed at twice the speed.

First up for drylab we have Ahmed, who’s in his second year of Mechanical Engineering. He spends a little too much time in the wetlab for a drylabber, but it's okay because we like his rants about shawarma. He is a proud father of his son, “stinky” - our giant slab of bacterial cellulose. Ahmed 3D-printed 80 random objects during the iGEM season and we don't know what most of them are for.

Meet Catherine, who’s in her third year of Biomedical Engineering. If you ever hear loud clapping, don’t worry, it’s just Catherine laughing at the wetlab’s nonsense. If you need her to stop laughing, just say her favorite phrase: “uniaxial testing”. She doesn’t know this but she probably has the best fits on the team.

Meet Ebun, who’s in her second year of Computer Science. We’re not sure what she does all day but we know she goes typey typey on her computer. If you ever want a fun name for your file, ask Ebun to name it - yungbc.pdb and snoopnisin.pdb are just the beginning for her creativity. Hire her to be your videographer if you ever need a documentary made.

Say hello to Inara, who’s in her third year of Health and Society. We can’t confirm whether she’s the best driver on the team but we do know that she has the most extensive wardrobe of solely black clothing. Anything you need, Inara probably has it - McDonald’s, painkillers, even AI drawings of peaches.

Introducing Dr. Mayi, who is our wonderful Principal Investigator. She has been a huge support to our team throughout the entire iGEM season, whether it's been growing an entire kombucha factory at her house, or bringing in chips, brownies, and homemade cookies for our team. Cellucoat would not be what it is today without her help!

Meet Sebastian, one of our remarkably multitasking wet-lab and dry-lab advisor. It has taken Cellucoat months to get that man to crack a smile, so don't get scared off your first time. He has guided us and our project in numerous ways from understanding the basics of iGEM to the complexities within the wet-lab as well as been an incredible inspiration. However don't be fooled by his looks, this man games and drinks coffee like no other.

Meet Harold, one of our lovely wetlab advisors. He’s always ready for business and will probably make you a gel if you ask nicely. Harold will also dig through the garbage for you when you accidentally throw out your PCR products. We still don’t understand why he eats chips out of a container with a spoon, but we don’t question it.

Say hello to Tian, our other lovely wetlab advisor. You may have met some pretty good cooks, but we present the best chef of iGEM. We hypothesize that he keeps returning to iGEM because he wants to talk about pottery with someone. Tian will also listen to all of your mind boggling theories and give the best life advice. A chef, advisor, therapist, and friend - an exclusive 4 in 1 pack.

Meet Andrew, one of our amazing dry-lab advisors. If you ever want some cool socks or stats help you know he's the man to go to- maybe he will even share some of his favourite quinoa with you. Never trust this man when it comes to how tall he is; one day he will tell you he's 5'2 and another 8'4. We guess we will never know his true height...

Meet Aarti, one of our fantastic wet-lab advisors. She has the best tricks and tips up her sleeve when it comes to dig-ligs. She is a PhD Candidate by day but a magician by night for all the times we have been disguised as grad students for free coffee. She was a significant help in our success with expressing protein in lab!
