NU_Kazakhstan & Shym_BIL_NIS

Throughout the year, we have worked and contaced with numerous iGEM teams. However, our team bond with
“NU_Kazakhstan”
team was special, and here is why:

Our main goal was to
cultivate
the mutual relationship between the teams, and contribute to the development of work pertaining
to research & wiki page aspect
of iGEM.

NU_Kazakhstan
team provided us with the
lab space, materials and equipment
to carry out our experiments. We had the opportunity to discuss and develop the experiment plan under the
supervision
of
NU_Kazakhstan
team member Arsen.

Despite being novices in the lab work, we had the opportunity
to assist NU_Kazakhstan
team members with performing basic experiments in molecular biology. Their commitment to help us & trust in our ability in doing experiments independently
shows
the significance of the
partnership.

We helped their team in
collecting environmental bacteria
samples to create
agar art
for their
BioArt
exhibition. Picture of our final result is attached below:

We had a
session
dedicated to understanding the
wiki page
requirements & development process.
NU_Kazakhstan
provided us with invaluable insights that resulted in our final wiki page

On the basis of already
existing plasmid of ‘Remi, du et’
(the project of igem NU_Kazakhstan 2021 team) NU Kazakhstan 2022 navigated us on
modelling possible genetic circuit.
This circuit can be amplified in
E. coli
, and the target protein can be synthesized in
P. putida.
