Collaborations

Lambert GA

Our team's collaboration with Lambert High School began with presentations given by both teams. EmpireGene then worked with Lambert High School on our team's YouTube channel, where Lambert High School uploaded an animation explaining their padlock project.

We also supported Lambert High School's culturally inclusive cookbook by submitting names and instructions for four recipes. Some of the dishes that our team contributed were Moussaka and Sataraš. Moussaka is a typical Bosnian dish with a lot of healthy ingredients. It is made with eggplant, meat, potatoes, and other vegetables that are cooked to a consistency of a savory pie. In addition, Sataraš is another Bosnian dish that is a collection of vegetables, primarily onion, tomatoes, and peppers. Other vegetables are occasionally added. We contributed the following recipes with Lambert HS.

Linköping Sweden

In mid-July, we were able to get in contact with the IGEM LIU team in Sweden. We troubleshot our project and asked if they could distribute our survey in Sweden. Their team spread our survey and presented our team's PowerPoint regarding synthetic biology at Linköping University in Sweden. In return, we distributed their team's survey within the New York City area and drafted an article about neurodegeneration for their research.

KCIS Xiugang Taipei

The KCIS team met in September, and we started our collaboration by describing our projects through pamphlets and presentations. KCIS agreed to distribute our survey in Taiwan, and in return, we contributed to their high school newspaper by providing information about the significance and practicality of our team's project. Finally, KCIS contributed to our team by giving new images for our team's educational coloring book.

Patras Medicine

We met the Patras Medicine team from Greece in July. During our first meeting, we ran through our teams' presentations. The Patras Medicine team had a team professor who validated our project's abstract and research plan. We sent our team's survey to Patras Medicine for them to distribute within Greece, and our team distributed Patras Medicine's survey within the New York City area. Our team provided advice on how they could practically implement the idea of precision farming in cities and rural areas after they had done preliminary research.
