Hi my name is Brigid Allen and I’m a senior at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. I play soccer and the violin, and I’m interested in environmental science and sustainability. I am so proud of everyone’s work and I hope to win the iGEM gold medal with this team!

Hi! My name is Claire Kim and I’m a sophomore at St. Mary’s High School in Manhasset, New York. I do cross country and also love to swim. My interests are in the STEM field, specifically biology and chemistry. I am looking forward to participating in iGEM this year!

I am Hailey Seltzer and I go to Stuyvesant High School. I am currently a senior and live in New York City. I love to learn new things, such as biological mechanisms and physics phenomena, and also have a passion for history. This is my first year participating in iGEM and I lead the biology sub-team. I am excited to see how our research will progress and know we will be able to make great discoveries!

This is my third time participating in iGEM. This year, EmpireGene is aiming for the gold medal for the first time, and as one of the few members interested in humanities, I hope I can contribute to the human practices team!

Hey! My name is Kohana Henson and I’m a sophomore at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York. I’m a competitive swimmer and love to play violin and piano, hence why I go to a performing arts school. I’m passionate in the fields of science, and through our iGEM team I’ve been able to utilize my knowledge of collaboration, biology, and business. My interests lie predominantly in STEM, specifically computer science and Transportation Engineering. Hey! I’m Mustafo, and I’m currently a senior at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, New Jersey. Some of my interests include basketball (Celtics fan!) and biking around town with friends. As a student, one of my personal interests is in applying biomedical engineering to promote recovery in neurodegenerative diseases, which is why I am very motivated to pursue our team's project.

Hello, my name is Roy Kang and I’m currently sophomore at Saint Mary’s High School in Manhasset. I was born in South Korea and I live in Fresh Meadows. I like to sleep, eat, and watch Netflix on weekends. My major interest is in math, and I like to think about profound knowledge or ideas in math. I enjoy playing basketball and reading interesting science books. This is my first year in iGEM and I look forward to working on this project with many different people.

Hi, I am Ryan Oh and I am a senior in Saint Mary’s HIgh School, Manhasset. I am from South Korea and live in Queensborough. My interests are magic tricks, playing the piano, sports, and weight training. I play football and soccer as Nose Tackle and goalkeeper respectively. This is my third year of iGEM. I was in the NYC iGEM team as a sub team leader last year when we won the silver medal,and I hope our team can win the gold medal this year.

Hello! My name is Vanessa Chen and I am a junior at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. I am a theater-enthusiast and I produce, direct, and act. In my free time, I enjoy learning to write different genres of literature. Currently, I am studying journalism and news writing. iGEM has been such a valuable learning experience.
