At present, she has presided over the following scientific research projects: Jiangsu Province Doctor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Nanjing Overseas students return to China Entrepreneurship Project.

Liying Zhu is an associate professor in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at Nanjing Tech University since 2019. In 2011,she graduated with a PhD in Biochemical Engineering at Zhejiang University. She mainly engaged in the research of material synthetic biology. She is interested in construction of hybrid cell factory based on nanomaterials and living microbial cells.
