1.Target audience

Our main target audience is the elderly because they have difficulty getting to the hospital for testing, so we have created a home use detector for them to test anytime and anywhere, of course, due to the youthfulness of hyperuricemia, we think that young people are also one of our target audiences, we propose to install our detector in major universities to help more young people to control their uric acid levels. So, at the same time, considering that the testing environment in hospitals may be unfamiliar and may have various inconveniences for women, we also encourage women to be able to test in their own homes to avoid embarrassment.


2.Proposed method of usage

Our strains work well at uric acid concentrations of 100 to 1000 μmol/L. The fluorescence intensity becomes strong within 4 to 6 hours after uric acid induction and stable within 10 to 12 hours. Our strain also works fine in a simulated urine use environment (37 degrees, pH=7). Therefore, our hardware does not require additional accessories to keep the strains working.

Our engineered strains will be placed in our test kits. The test cassette is a small closed replacement cassette, which can be replaced by the user directly after the test for the next test.

Our entire product will consist of three parts: a test kit, a sterilizing fluid release and a deodorant release. The product will be equipped with a removable carabiner that will help our users to easily and conveniently replace the test during the use of the product and ensure that the user does not need to touch the excrement. At the same time, our product is suitable for bidet toilets and can also be used for squatting toilets. The method of use is the same, just place the left and right sides of the detector on the pedal or on the toilet seat.

The user only needs to use the commode normally and the sensor will detect the urine received. After the test, just wait for about three hours, according to the color of the sensor can determine the uric acid level in its urine.


3.Product safety

In terms of safety, we took a number of things into consideration. First, we installed a sterilizing fluid release. Since the contamination and proliferation of engineered microorganisms has been a concern for us all in recent years, we have paid special attention to the sterilization of engineered bacteria. This device will help us to kill the engineered bacteria that may leak and avoid contamination of the sewer by engineered bacteria. At the same time, our test kits are replaceable, and will be changed everytime we use, so the product will not be used for too long and lead to substandard test results.
