Safety is the most important factor in our implementation of the project. Due to the impact of Covid-19, in addition to fulfilling laboratory safety regulations, we also have to comply with China's relevant regulations on Covid-19.We chose to use E. coli BL21 as the chassis, and our design targets a suicide switch so that our experiments do not pose a hazard to human health and environmental safety.
Our laboratory is a level 1 standard microbiology laboratory, and experimental work is done in a laboratory environment.
Before entering the laboratory, there are professional teachers to provide us with laboratory safety training.All the team members need to test safety knowledge, basic experimental operations and emergency handling,and team members will not be allowed into the lab unless they pass the test.
We do not use any dangerous chemicals throughout the experiments.When our projects need to be displayed outside the laboratory, we will use AR\VR and other digital forms and non-laboratory biological products to display.
After the experiment is completed, we have a dedicated laboratory leader to disinfect and sterilize, check the fire safety of the laboratory, and manage the waste generated by the experiment.
Our laboratory safety training includes laboratory code of conduct, precautions for the use of laboratory equipment, laboratory data statistics and records, laboratory safety fire handling, chemical storage and use, laboratory waste disposal, laboratory emergency treatment principles, etc.
We follow the "Regulations on Biosafety Management of Pathogenic Microorganisms Laboratory" and "General Requirements for Laboratory Biosafety" issued by the Chinese government.
