Overview

Throughout the project, BUCT has established partnerships with multiple iGEM teams. Among them, JLU_China, NJU_China and BUCT_China are our specific partners, which have cooperated in different aspects of this year to varying degrees. In addition, we have also participated in the exchange meetings of iGEM community, such as the joint scientific activities of 12 teams and CCiC. During the meeting, we have exchanged information with other teams and achieved good cooperation results.

1. One-to-One Collaboration

1.1 Collaboration with JLU_China

In the cooperation with JLU China, we participated in the production of an iGEM manual, which records the whole competition process of many teams and is the crystallization of many iGEM people. We work with other teams to improve it. We hope this manual will play a role in the future.

In the 2022 season, we cooperated with JLU_China to synthesize 2-phenylethyl Alcohol. After the experiment, the two teams compared the two results to discuss the difference and yield of 2-phenylethyl Alcohol synthesized by the two methods.

1.2 Collaboration with NJU-China

NJU_China and BUCT paid close attention to the rights and interests of hair loss patients. NJU_China provided valuable suggestions in BUCT's interview, and BUCT shared with NJU_China the findings of hair care product experts. We all improved our projects in cooperation.

1.3 Collaboration with BUCT-China

On May 22, Beijing time, BUCT China and BUCT held a lecture on synthetic biology and project introduction in the school studio. BUCT_China team introduced a project on the development of cell culture meat. BUCT introduced the problem of seborrheic alopecia. This activity not only deepened our understanding of synthetic biology, but also inspired the audience of college students from different schools and majors to understand the importance of biology in daily life.

2. Teams Chat & Collaboration

2.1 Collaboration with 11 iGEM teams

In this activity, the teams of BNUZH-China, JLU-China, BIT, BUCT, NJU-China, FaFu-China, BUCT-China, iBowu, NJMU-China, NPU-CHINA, Sustech_Shenzhen_HCL, BIT-China fully discussed their respective projects,and relevant topics were been identified to attract the interest of non professionals, so that they will not feel too rough and obscure. We introduced a variety of topics to many senior high school and non synthetic biology professionals in the publicity activities, which was well received. We hope that this team work activity can help more students stimulate their enthusiasm for synthetic biology.

2.2 CCiC

From August 18 to 20, we attended the 9th China iGEMer Exchange Conference, where we introduced the project of this season and communicated with other teams. At this meeting, we gained a lot of valuable experience through close communication and cooperation with other teams.
