In order to better reach the public with the results of our project and education events, we construct multiple avenues of communication. There should be a dialogue between the scientific community and the public. This year, we build and strengthen the connection with the community through various media platforms and educational events organized by us and our partners. You can read all the information about our newsletter and educational events below. More details can be found on the Education page.
We use the famous domestic video site Bilibili to spread our project, mainly in the form of a live broadcast of the event, with 3k+ viewers. After each live broadcast, we upload the video to our official account with a link to our project's public platform and a link to iGEM's official website, so that viewers can have a deeper understanding.

In order to make the content of our project accessible to more people, we publish all the contents of the campus lectures to the public, not only to enable students to understand and review the contents more systematically, but also to allow more extra-curricular students to receive spare time science education. At the same time, considering that many children in poor areas do not have access to the electronic products around them, we also leave class materials and our contact information when teaching offline in order to teach them how to learn better with the available resources.
We have illustrated the highlights and summaries of each event in our tweets, along with feedback and reflections on each event. Currently, we have 10+ tweets and over 3,000 readers.
On May 20, 2010, the Craig Venter Institute announced the birth of the world's first synthetic life form, Synthia, and researchers left a "watermark" on the gene - a famous quote by Irish writer Joyce:"To live, to err, to fall, to triumph, to recreate life out of life."This year is also the first year for ZJU-China to participate in the iGEM competition.
This year is our 13th year participating in the iGEM competition. In the past, we have won 9 gold medals, 2 silver medals and a bronze medal in the iGEM competition, and have broken into the Top10 many times. This year, new members joined this long-established team, sharing the collective memory of ZJU iGEMers.

This year, iGEM lies in the centre of our lives. As time goes on, we feel more and more that iGEM is not only a carnival of synthetic biology, but also an event about love, creation and persistence. We spent days and nights at the 413 Biological Experiment Center of Zhejiang University, where countless seniors left their precious memories.

iGEM completes us and we hope to pass on this wonderful memory to more people. This year, we actively contacted the previous captains and established the iGEMer community of Zhejiang University. Based on this, we established the synthetic biology platform of Zhejiang University. Through this platform, we will connect past, present and future synthetic biology enthusiasts. We hope that our human practice work is a long-term work that can continue to influence future iGEMers, while integrating the ideas of synthetic biology "engineering" and "creation" with modern university general education. We hope that the community we establish is not only dedicated to finding potential synthetic biology enthusiasts, but also can influence students of various majors, so that more people can feel the charm of synthetic biology.
We held offline meetups for iGEMers to share our iGEM competition memories with each other. We also invited past seniors to give lectures in the school through the community. The specific details are explained in the Education section. In the future, this community will continue to grow. Just as synthetic biology advocates, each of us is a biobrick forming a huge system, and the community connects us into a system, and we will continue to use life to create more new lives!
