About the Team
The Westview High School iGEM is a 17 member high school team located in San Diego, California. The team decided to study PFAS chemicals after learning about the impact of these PFAS “forever” chemicals on the global environment. Starting in March 2022, the team organized numerous meetings every week from in person, online, in school, and in lab. Utilizing synthetic biology technology to break down PFAS, the project opened up partnerships with local iGEM teams, iGEM mentors, scientists, and classmates.
