Personally, I think I am an extroverted and optimistic girl who likes to make friends. Hey, I’m Bolin Miao, a high school freshman at Dana hall school. I love to invest myself in biology, music and traveling. Equestrian, badminton, and softball are my favorite sports, but I am always open to new things and would love to try things I have never done before. My dream is to do things I love and enjoy the food around the world while traveling. Hi, I am Shenglan Zhang. I am a G10 student from Beijing Huijia Private School. I love biology and also love lots of other subjects. My passion for biology comes from being immersed in natural science documentaries since I was a child. When I was in grade 9, I suddenly found my interest in biology. Although my interests are mainly focus science, I also have a lot of social practice experience, which I hope they could help you. I am quiet and easygoing person at most of the  times, but I will force myself to get up on some special occasions! Hello, everyone! I’m Shiqi Chen, from Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, currently studying at Hangzhou NewChannel A level Centre. As a potential economic student, I am engrossed in economics and mathematics and hope to put what I’ve learned to use. For the growing complexity of the world, interdisciplinary practices become increasingly significant in the sense of human development. With that in mind, I jumped at the opportunity to join an igem team, where synthetic biology is centred, but collaboration between students with diverse majors takes place and we can make contributions to a real-world issue in various ways. Besides, my curiosity about the organic world is another drive. In my spare time, I enjoy wandering around with my camera, baking, and have recently stepped into filming and editing. I am looking forward to the journey with my teammates and “evolving” together!

Hello, my name is Qi Zeng (Shallea is okay too), and I'm a grade 10 student at Ningbo Foreign Language School's AP department. Now that I'm more interested in biology, I've come to iGEM! I have a deep interest for music, and while I have always enjoyed performing classical music on the piano and singing, I also enjoy listening to pop music. Personally, I consider myself a brave but reserved young lady; I am eager and outgoing, and I will not, of course, expose secrets. I enjoy exploring and discovering new things, as well as experiencing new sensations, therefore I'm not concerned about what I like and don't like. Hello everyone, I'm David Chen. I'm in grade 10 from a silly school called WLSA. Although I have little fat, I still usually swim and play badminton, and I'm not bad at both of these two sports. Sometimes when I have free time, I prefer to play games especially ADOFAI, HearthStone and ClashRoyale. During playing games, nothing can disrupt me except some important messages and having a meal. I learned some basic music knowledge when I was 5, so I learn a instrument called french horn, which is not very popular. I learn it for seven years, and have already passed the Province A and level 10. But now I only play it few times a month. Also, I like listen to music. The type of music I will listen depends on my mood that day, mostly classical music. The last thing is about my academic interests. I'm good at chemistry, which is my main support of GPA. Also, I'm interested in biology, which is the main reason I participate iGEM competition. I hope we can become friends in the future and have a good cooperation.

I participated in the iGem competition mainly in the hope of improving my academic level and gaining a little more advantages when applying to university. My best subjects are biology, physics and computer science. I hope that I can exercise my ability in the competition, and I hope that the little knowledge I have mastered can also help you. I don't actally have many extracurricular hobbies, I'm not very interested in sports, but if you're a CS:GO fan, maybe we have a little bit in common. I spent most of my spare time doing homework to make sure I didn't lose my GPA. To tell the truth, I am a typical partial subject, although my science is good, but I really have no interest in history and so on, but iGem this kind of examination should be suitable for me such science students.

I am nearly good at all science subjects, but that does not mean I am not good at liberal classes; put it simply, I am a “science girl”. At first glance, you will probably think that I am hard to deal with, but I am quite outgoing actually, if you start chatting with me you will find that’s true. Besides maintaining lovely GPA, I like to do many things: piano, ballet, golf, swimming, badminton, and equestrian are all my hobbies; for games, I like to play musical games, such as Phigros and Arcaea, and Apex. Hi, I am Elisa, from Rongqiao Sedbergh School. To challenge and surpass myself is always my goal, which is one of the reasons I decided to participate in the iGEM competition. As a STEM student, I am especially good at physics and biology and keen on life science. I hope to become a scientist specialising in genetic engineering. Beyond academia, I have a broad range of interests. I am a member of the school track team. Meanwhile, I play netball and tennis, go swimming, ski, mountain climbing, and dance ballet in my spare time. I am willing to learn a combat sport and diving. Apart from sports, the cello and piano are also indispensable parts of my life. Along with instrument performance, I do compositions on classical and modern music. Greeting, I'm Macy Tan! I'm a G10 IB student from Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School. I am good at communication, promotion, design, and planning. I have served in various positions in middle and high school for a long time, and I am currently a student ambassador, class president, member of the school's High Flier Gifted and Talented program, president of the Law Club, and president of Mathematical Modeling Club. I have experience hosting events, both large and small, such as meeting with overseas admissions officers, hosting orientation sessions, and planning the school's academic season. All of these activities have made me feel like a bridge, a bridge from the beginning to the end, and I hope to continue the length and width of that bridge in this iGem competition. I am passionate about participating in all kinds of competitions because I feel that competitions are not just about the accolades in terms of ranking, but more about enjoying the process of encountering frustrations, solving them, and gaining something from the competition. (It is also enjoyable to have the results evaluated and scored by a rigorous and diverse group of judges). Other than that, I enjoy traveling, painting (which I have been studying for more than 10 years now), writing, and debating (under the fierce president of the varsity team). In terms of sports, I play tennis, badminton, baseball, basketball, equestrian, and swimming. I like classical music, watching movies, learning about  law, feeling the solemnity and warmth of the law, and recently I have been involved in mathematical modeling. In terms of academics, I have a strong interest in physics, biology, English literature, and economics. Through physics, I continue to explore the outside world and phenomena; through biology, I perceive the vitality of life and individual mechanisms; through English literature, I experience the emotion and power of words, and am moved by the stories of others and the times, so that I do not become numb and find a place for my heart in this era. Economics, on the other hand, allows me to realize thinking and solving problems from more perspectives. I came to iGem because I knew it was a diverse, interdisciplinary event where everyone could use their different strengths to "add to the project". I don't think we can be called a "team" but a "military", we have a battle, we are warriors, we have a message to win and a city to conquer. I am not only hoping that we will win the gold medal, but I am also very curious and excited about the final outcome of the project! I will be working with everyone, dropping hair together, and waiting for the ultimate result!

With all things considered, I favor liberal education over special one owing to a belief which says, “Tomorrow belongs to interdisciplinary study.
