Secretion Efficiency Collection for L. acidophilus

We decided to create this collection to characterize the activity of various signal peptides in Lactobacillus acidophilus, since there are few parts that have been used in this chassi in the Registry. We chose to focus on signal peptides because secretion is an essential process in many iGEM projects - like ours - that combine cellular inputs with extracellular outputs. The objective of this Collection is to define, via extracellular fluorescence comparison, the construct that promotes the most efficient secretion in L. acidophilus. Then, our team and future iGEM teams will be able to incorporate it in circuit designs to generate the extracellular outputs with a better perfomance. All of the parts were created with the same Promoter, RBS, GFP and Terminator, with the variation of the signal peptide. The range of Parts Numbers are: from BBa_K4349010 to BBa_K4349015.
