Team Members

Peichen Liu：He is the general team leader. In the project, he was mainly responsible for administrative matters, such as registration for various events. In addition, he was mainly responsible for Wiki construction. He made various web page effects and participated in the shooting of promotion videos.

Ning Li：She is the leader of the wetlab and responsible for most matters relating to the experiment, from designing to refining the experiment plan as well as carrying out the experiments under the guidance of advisors.

Bowen Yang：In the project, he involved heavily in the project's experiment, spending every office day’s afternoon in the laboratory. He constructed the recombinant Pichia pastoris X33 strain by cloning the plasmid pPICZ∂A-lacA into the yeast, selected strains, and cultivated. He also contributed to constructing the E.coli strain, including selecting strains, designing primers, extracting plasmids, carrying PCR, and cloning the plasmid into the strain. In addition to the work done in the laboratory, he wrote the experiment related part of the impact grant form, prepared poster and experiment related part of speech text for CCiC, and found part of the protocols for experiment.

Chengyu Li: He mainly participated in the lab, conducting the experiments of the whole project while making budget.

Zonghan Xie: Zonghan Xie is a member of the modeling group, and he is responsible for establishing three models: expression model, rational molecular design and metric equation. He made mathematical equations in the expression model and provided relevant molecular data. He is mainly responsible for rational molecular design. Using DS software, he established the three-dimensional structure and small molecular structure of proteins and tried molecular docking to predict the most suitable mutation point as well as the data analysis of molecular docking and amino acid binding by establishing a double reciprocal equation to predict the combination of the time required for the experiment and the substrate.

Hongyi Huang：He is a member of the modeling group. He is responsible for running the data and building up models with certain modeling software. To begin, he finished building the expression model which helped predict the proper time to check our enzyme product. He ploted the Time vs. Number Of Molecules graph in MATLAB as the outcome of this model. Moreover, he also used DS to analyse our enzyme’s active site, including Ligand groups and SBD Site Sphere. Additionally, He wrote a part of modeling detailed description.

Guofeng He：He is the leader of wiki. He is mainly responsible for the wiki building and communicating with members in experiment, modeling and human practice about the wiki contents. He also worked in the wetlab. Additionally, he took charge of the composition of articles in team’s official account.

Luhan Gao：She is the co-head leade of entrepreneurship, and she took part in writing a business plan. She also contributed to the group iHP and Education. She is mainly responsible for making lectures, editing educational videos, and promoting the project to the public.

Runjin Mao：He is the head leader of Human Practice group. He is mainly responsible for the design of iHP and Education, assignment and arrangement of tasks, holding HP meetings, and supervising and ensuring the progress of the project.

Lingxiu Zhang：He is the co-head leader of entrepreneurship and is responsible for business plan writing and introducing our project to the sponsor. Meanwhile, he took part in the responsibility for HP. He designed a questionnaire for the public and lactose intolerant patients. He also wrote about the published materials and initiated a topic in the public forum to arouse the public's awareness of lactose intolerance.

Weixi Kong：She is a team member of experiments group. She carried out experiments in wetlab and collected protocols about molecular cloning and enzyme activity assay. She wrote the engineering success page for the team wiki.

Advisors

Feng Long: As the founder of SMS_Shenzhen team in 2022, she dedicated herself to coordinating teamwork, administrating project progress, and expanding outreach activities. She made a budget and assisted in planning experiments as well as human practices in the early stage. Then, she collected partial experiment protocols and organized cooperative activities. Finally, she offered suggestions for wiki construction.

Yican Wang: Help design logos and provide guidance on art design-related aspects.

Shaoxi Zhang: helped provide technical support and advice in hardware design and construction.

Yuxuan Xie: Helped go through brainstorming for Modeling and offered technical supports for model constructions.

Rongying Zhang：Helped go through brainstorming for Human Practice and offer suggestions.

Tianzuo Zeng：He participated in the reorganisation of school biology lab, and was responsible for the instruction of engineering till August. You can see him in the promotion video!

Huanran Sun: Assisted in Human Practice brainstorming and helped the production of promotion video including scriptwriting, shooting, and editing.

PI

Ying Liu: She is the primary PI of SMS_Shenzhen team. As a school faculty, she manages the finances of the team and coordinates with the finance and accounting department of the school.
