Overview

Due to the impact of Covid-19, we took online and offline approaches to communicate with other teams and had in-depth collaborations with them. We shared ideas, discussed the problems in the process, and mutually put forward much practical advice.Through constant and significant communication, we gained a lot of suggestions and improved our project. Here are some of the teams we work closely with.

The 9th Conference of China IGEMer Community(CCiC)

As the effects of covid-19 still exist, the 9th Conference of China iGEMer Community invited synthetic biology enthusiasts from all over China to meet with hundreds of iGEMers and thousands of spectators through a combination of online and offline in order to comply with relevant regulations on epidemic prevention.

The theme of 2022 CCiC is "Life Meets Everything", which aims to encourage people to think and explore the role of synthetic biology in different fields of research and industry, so that synthetic biology can have the power and opportunity to participate in life and change life. This is also the opportunity and challenge of synthetic biology, which embodies the vision of "Life Meets Everything".

With BIT-China

We invited the iGEM team of Beijing Institute of Technology and SJTU Bio - X Shanghai team to communicate together in the form of online conference. First of all, we introduced our respective projects in the form of presentation, and pointed out our current questions and puzzles. Then, students from different teams actively put forward questions and answered each other. Students are faced with the same problem. For example, under the influence of the epidemic situation, we are difficult to carry out offline experiments to verify our algorithm. After raising the question, we brainstormed to find a solution to this problem. In addition, we also carefully discussed the sources of each other's data sets and shared other difficulties encountered by each other in the process of scientific research.

With Tongji_Software

When communicating with the iGEM software team of Tongji University, we first demonstrated our own projects and shared each other's content in the form of mock presentation. Then, we put forward questions and answered each other's questions about each other's projects. Because the projects of our two teams involve the background about the whole genome and the knowledge related to machine learning, we discussed our understanding and confusion of these two aspects more comprehensively. All in all,we are very glad to have such an opportunity to exchange and share. In this process, we met new friends and had a deeper understanding of the application background of the project.

2022 iGEM China CRISPR Meetup

In recent years, CRISPR gene editing technology has received more and more attention from all walks of life, and many of the Chinese teams participating in the 2022 IGEM competition have made use of CRISPR gene editing technology. In order to better exchange related contents and develop ideas for more teams to solve the difficulties encountered at this stage, UESTC-BioTech team and HannanU-China team jointly prepared and invited CPU_China, SCU-China, BITDUT_China, HiZJU-China, NWU-China, SCAU_China, and SSCU-China to participate in the 2022 IGEM competition. CHINA-A, SCAU_China and SJTU-software teams to participate in the online 2022 iGEM China CRISPR Meetup.

At the 2022 iGEM China CRISPR Meetup, teams discussed and exchanged ideas on dry and wet experiments, modeling, software and hardware, and wiki. Through this Crispr Meetup, each team further understood the broad application prospect of Crispr gene editing technology, and deepened the friendship between the teams.
