Fundraising
Fundraising is one of the fastest and most effective ways to not only promote our
products but also to fund our product development. Depending on our activities of fundraising, not only have we
aimed to popularize our project and concepts, but also treat it as a valuable opportunity to make people more aware
of diabetes and we could also share some knowledge about measures to prevent this disease during the process of
selling.
To catch the shopping spree of the Qixi Festival, the so-called Chinese Valentine's Day, we decided to conduct the
charity sale on that night August 4th. We realized that small electric fans, T-shirts, sunshades,s or umbrellas with
our team logos printed and juice might be in tremendous demand. Meanwhile, we also wholesaled a batch of roses to
attract the passers also for sale, which gained great popularity as expected.

Apart from selling peripheral products or roses that could bring profits, we
never
ignore the chance of communicating with the public about the topic we are concerned about and our project.
Concretely, we designed some posters and brochures with knowledge about Diabetes and Glucokinase (Gk) to distribute
to our buyers and made some brief introductions, some of them expressed their gratitude in return. Facts showed that
people are willing to learn some relevant knowledge in such a way.

We set up our stall in the central mall and sold our products to passers. In the
end, we
made some profits. Overall, the process of fundraising was relatively smooth. However, we also faced some challenges
in that many people thought our commodities were expensive to refuse to purchase them. Therefore, we finally adopted
the strategy of price reduction by formulating some sets for increasing sales. Through this valuable experience, we
learned to cooperate with teammates in the fields including handling the goods, negotiating with urban guards and
managers, and peddling.

So far, although we haven't sold out all our peripheral goods, our activities
never end.
We are still working on the sale promotion online so that we could raise enough funds and all out profits will be
donated to the Red Cross to help diabetics.
