Parts Collection

XJTLU_China 2022 have focused on heavy metal ions in wastewater in an attempt to address the problem by synthetic biology. In order to achieve this, we have added 8 new parts, including 3 basic parts and 5 composite parts

Our part collection's focus is the surface display of metal-adsorption proteins on E. coli. All composite parts consist of three or four basic parts: (SUMO), CsgA, GS-linker and metal ion adsorbed proteins. We have also improved the adsorption capacity of the existing metal adsorption protein, SmtA.

Our immobilized approach to gene pathway assembly will facilitate the rapid generation of engineered bacteria by other teams or related companies in the future, depending on their needs. In all of the metal ions we have validated, the modified E. coli can survive and function in solutions with a wide range of concentrations. Due to the outstanding highlights in convenience and viability, our part collection will have broad application prospects.
