How we split up the work
Our team was created in December 2021 and we started brainstorming soon after. We have done a lot of bibliographic research to find project ideas. We then focused on two main projects using the chassis Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. The first project idea was to purify the river La Seine from heavy metals and the second was to find a solution to iron deficiency by making the microalgae produce more iron. We finally chose the second project because it responds to a global problem and could be a solution to anemia. We were able to start working in the lab from mid-June to mid-September.
We are a team of 20 students. The strength of our team is that we come from different backgrounds, so we form a multidisciplinary team, some know a lot about biology, others know how to code, others have already had experiences in treasury and so on.
We therefore split into several teams, with people who are part of several teams, to value and enhance our skills.
Even if we were not expert in all fields, we wanted to do all the work by ourselves, whether it be for the design of the logos, the creation of the wiki, the editing of the videos, the implementation of the template. With courage and hard work, we have managed to accomplish many things by ourselves and have all learned new skills!
