The School of Biology and Biological Engineering, South China University of Technology, the place where we learn, research and communicate, is famous for its characteristic courses and activities in the field of cutting-edge topics. Synthetic Biology is one of those who won students hearts. At the fourth semester of the college, with adequate learning and training of basic courses including Calculus and Linear Algebra, Physics, Biochemistry, students are welcome to take Synthetic Biology as a elective course. All the learning materials are open online for us to review as we want to.

We teamed up at July, 2021 and started reviewing outstanding projects in the previous years. We gain experience from their concept, design, application and their effort to bring synthetic biology to the general public. Meanwhile, we did brainstorming twice a week to put forward various ideas in environment, manufacturing, public health and so on, and judge their significance, feasibility and social value. Finally at October, 2021 we made our decision of the project now we present to you, and soon started planning our work in wet lab, dry lab, human practice and so on. We did our lab work since January till August, 2022, and we have been posting educational paragraphs on Wechat and Bilibili all the 2022. Besides, during spring and summer, we carried out many social surveys and interviews with the industry and the public, to figure out the hot spot, ask for opinions and make sure our project did contributed to the solution.

We met Prof. Lin and Prof. Ye regularly to present our recent work and share opinions about the project. They gave us many practical advice and guides on the overall design, together with valuable inspirations for the optimization of our project.
