Ibrahim Chehade (Biology Instructor at NYUAD):
Provided lab support by training all biology members range of lab techniques. Moreover, Ibrahim supported the team throughout the entire project, giving advice and helping in planning and organizing. Moreover, Ibrahim teaches Synthetic Biology course (course material are available on NYU teaching platforms only available on NYU teaching platforms only)
Areas of support: Lab Maintenance, Writing, Safety, Presentation Coaching, General support, project support and advice
Dr. Rafael Song (Head of Bioengineering at NYUAD):
Provided help during project ideation and helped students set achievable goals. Supported team by allowing us to use his team’s lab bench and equipment. Moreover, Dr. Song helped engineering team members with understanding how to approach the development of the chip.
Areas of support: Conceptualization, Idealization, Hardware, Presentation Coaching, Writing, project support and advice
Dr. Andras Gyorgy (Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering):
Provided help during project ideation and helped students set achievable and realistic goals. Moreover Dr. Gyorgy supervised the writing of the project to make sure ideas and aims are portrayed correctly.
Areas of support: Conceptualization, Idealization, Writing, project support and advice
Alexandra Laura Fraser(Assistant Manager, Administration, Science Division):

Areas of support: Funding & Fundraising help and advice
Dr. Mazin Magzoub (Associate Professor of Biology):
Professor Mazin’s lab team is focused on the role of amyloid beta in Alzheimer Disease (AD) therefore he was the first person we approached for advice regarding the field of AD. Prof Mazin provided us with inside information about the AD research field and what topics are critical for exploring at the moment.
Areas of support: Conceptualization, Background Research
James Weston (Research Instrumentation Scientist)
Helped team during the wet lab experiments in particular with the atomic force microscopy and glass chip visualization.
Areas of Support: Difficult techniques, lab support
Prof. Ali Trabolsi (Program Head of Chemistry; Professor of Chemistry):
Professor Trabolsi introduced our team to his research on MOF with an idea that the particles he is developing might increase our binding of aptamers to AuNp.
Areas of Support: Difficult techniques, lab support
Mohammad Qasaimeh (Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering):
Initially consulted regarding the chip development. He proposed to us to use his research on the paper based chip and further connected us with prof Ramadi.
Areas of Support: Project advice, human practices support
Khalil Ramadi (Assistant Professor of Bioengineering):
Professor Ramadi helped us with the biology part of the project since his research lab is focused on disease biomarkers.
