Dr. Ching-Fen Chang holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and has been primary investigator of the NYCU-Taipei iGEM team since 2013. Ever since the start of our iGEM journey, Dr. Jane has been providing us valuable advice by using her experience and expertise in the field of genomics and synthetic biology. We appreciate Dr. Jane for helping us with our project design and giving us kind suggestions on how to troubleshoot our experiments. Beside the “scientific” work, Dr. Jane is also a heart-warming teacher who always takes care of our safety and well-being.
Dr. Chang is a professor at the Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology and the Institute of Biomedical Informatics. He is also one of our principal investigators, and leads the NYCU-Taipei iGEM team since 2007. With his expertise and research interest in genome design and engineering, Dr. Chang always generously offers us instructions on how to optimize our plasmid construct. Moreover, he led brainstorming sessions and supervised our research work. We are really lucky to have Dr. Chang with our team because of his creativity when it comes to solving problems. Without his help, we couldn't have conquered the difficulties and worked smoothly with our project!

Kevin is currently a third year undergraduate studying in the department of life science and is our Wet Lab leader. He always takes good care of our experimental design with a responsible attitude and pays attention to the details. Participating in iGEM is a brand-new experience for Kevin. Although it is exhausting and frustrating sometimes, he still considers it a meaningful milestone to be conquered.
Patrick is currently a second year undergraduate studying in the department of life science and is a member of the Wet Lab and Human Practice. She also leads the Taipei American School (TAS) summer internship program, and her optimistic and easy-going personality makes her “a barrel of laughs” in our team.
Annie is currently a second year Life Science student and take part in Wet Lab and Human Practice. Annie is a great team player because she always put her best whenever doing tasks. Moreover, she is also optimistic about our team earning great results while having fun as we improve.
Adams is currently a third grade Biomedical Engineering student and is our Dry Lab leader. He says that he likes to chill and procrastinate but he is also a serious person when it comes to important matters. Just as he says, ”Our ultimate measure is not where we stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where we stand at times of challenge and controversy. As she says, “ I like the way our NYCU-Taipei team members connect and support each other throughout our journey. I have learnt many knowledgeable stuff ! “
Andy is currently a fourth grade biomedical engineering student and is our Device leader and part of our Dry Lab. In fact, he is a python coding master! Just like each one of us, throughout the iGEM journey, he is appreciates all the benefits from it. He even says, ”I'm working on something I have never done before. Learning new things from iGEM makes me a better person.” It seems that the iGEM journey is really a remarkable experience for him.
Jason is currently a second year life science student and is a member of the Wet Lab, Dry Lab and Human Practice. He is motivated to try new stuff. In order to turn his dreams into reality, he always works hard to improve himself. At the same time, he is learning diving and we hope he could find the meaning of life through the waters.
Jennifer is currently a second grade medical student and is a member of the Wet Lab and Human Practice . She would like to express her greatest gratitude to all the other team members. Without their company and support, she couldn't have become herself today and complete the challenging iGEM!
Charles is currently a fourth grade Biomedical Engineering student and is part of our Dry Lab Device . He knows that joining iGEM is like accepting a big challenge and he encourages all of us to step out our comfort zone to try new stuff.
