The team of Mr. Li Xiangkai from Lanzhou University: We received great help from the expert team of Professor LI Xiangkai, who has helped us with the design of the experiment and also helped us carry-out the experiment. The experts include: Zhenmin LING, Yanli CHEN, Tuoyu ZHOU, LI Xiangkai 1. We participated in the experiment under the instructions of Lanzhou University’s expert team and repeated the content of the experiment in the summer to come up with new ideas. We redid the build part of the experiment. 2. We independently completed the content of HP, education, collaboration, cooperation, entrepreneurship, sustainable development and other sections 3. Explore new applications based on our research and improve the safety and security of our projects as required by iGEM 4. Work implementation by giving ideas of how we can implement the research in real world
It all started when five or six students from the same high school on the team talked about preparing for iGEM. However, the team was mostly ten or even twenty people in size. So, they decided to form teams across schools. As more people joined, they decided that interacting with more students meant more ideas, and the team grew to its current size. But it was certainly a challenge. First of all, it was difficult to coordinate everyone's time. We have to admit that some of the team members were always absent from the team meetings. However, we are all actively helping each other. For example, we write minutes of our meetings so that we can accurately communicate what we are doing to the absent members. The second challenge was the severe epidemic in China, which was reflected in all aspects of the preparation for iGEM. For example, in order to get into the lab, all members had to do daily COVID testing to meet the lab's standards. We were also required to wear masks in the lab. As we went through all this together, we feel lucky to have a team like a big family.
Our topic was designed by members and faculty from Lanzhou University. In the general context of iGEM synthetic biology, we have considered many research directions that we can do. In order to make our project more useful for the society and the future iGEM team, we finally discussed with our teacher to make a tool to produce chitosan as a way to fill the gap of chitosan in biomethod production. In the actual experiment, the team members were independently responsible for part of the output of the experimental results. At the same time, teachers from Lanzhou University helped us to complete some of the experiments.
He is the overall leader of our team and is responsible for managing and coordinating project activities, planning and execution. He was also one of the members who initially planned to participate in iGEM.
She is the captain in charge of the wet lab section. Her main job is to read everyone's WIKI texts and revise them.
He was the team leader in charge of the HP section and organized the offline teaching of our team. This included the preparation of the PowerPoint and the combing of the syllabus. In addition, his wide range of interpersonal contacts made our teaching larger.
Her main task is to ensure the safety of the experiments, which includes filling out safety forms, writing lab safety matters and confirming immunization requirements.
As the most biologically knowledgeable student on the team, he is responsible for most of the program presentations. For example, the CCiC exchange.
He has a unique business acumen and is responsible for developing our team's business model and exploring additional business possibilities.
The team is funded and the materials are his responsibility. Personally, he raised the main funds for our experiments and was an essential part of the way we conducted the project.
He is responsible for laboratory cleaning, organization and preparation of research facilities or laboratories.
He is a creative thinking member of the team. He brainstormed ideas for us to develop when making plans.
She is good at writing and contributes to our WIKI and other copywriting, which helps us a lot in documenting our experiments.
She was responsible for the text of the publicity, which included the science of our team's social media.
She was responsible for conducting the main part of the experiment, which provided a good basis for the main body of our project.
By cleaning and maintaining research data, she gave other iGEM teams or the biology community the opportunity to learn from each other.
Although our project did not include a hardware component, he learned the relevant knowledge to prepare for it.
She is focused on working for our well-defined WIKI text. She provided a lot of empirical help by reviewing documents such as scientific literature, white papers and guidelines.
He is responsible for the preparation, creation and presentation of illustrations in the team, which is crucial to the aesthetics of our WIKI pages.
She was the communicator for our team, including contacting the lab for use or guidance from the instructor.
One of the copywriters, who documented our experimental process very well, in written form and in detail.
She was good at finding materials related to our project, and by reading them, our experiments became more mature.
He was responsible for writing the computer programs and code that provided the vehicle for our ideas.
By collecting and recording the experimental data, he datamined the process and results of the experiment, which provided the raw material for the subsequent data analysis.
He took care of the secondary parts of the experiment, including preparing the supplies and supporting members.
He was responsible for the analysis part, which included the analysis of our team as well as the literature generated data needed for the simulation project.
He was responsible for the booking and preparation of the team's event space, giving us a large enough available space.
He gave us a lot of creative suggestions for the development of our team HP, which gave us more available options.
He assisted in preparing the presentation of our work to make it more aesthetically pleasing and accurate.
As a senior university professor of biology, he was responsible for most of our orientation sessions and gave us a good first impression of iGEM, as well as giving us a clear idea of what we wanted to do.
She was our teaching assistant and was responsible for part of the molecular biology course.
The teacher of our offline experiments is responsible for managing the progress of our tasks. Also a lovely lady who will help me us as much as possible while we are working.
The teacher of our offline experiments is responsible for organizing the group's access to the lab. He was a gentle man who cared a lot about us.
He is our lab instruction coach and our daily group meeting guide. To make sure we are doing iGEM properly, he will ask us about our work progress and give advice from time to time.
