Collaborations

TU Delft

The Delft University of Technology’s Team worked on Biosensors to detect the rape drug GHB. In their quest to find the perfect design, they were in need of as many opinions of bar, club and event location owners, as well as nightclub visitors, as possible. In an effort to extend their reach into Germany, we translated vital documents, allowing them to get in contact with German club owners and visitors.

Patras video collab

The iGEM Team of the University of Patras created a series of informative videos about the iGEM competition and synthetic biology in general. We helped in creating these videos, by filming our own sequences with information about wetlab, drylab, synthetic biology and the competition in general. To overcome any possible language barrier, we chose our native language for the videos and paired them with English subtitles. We hope our efforts to reach as many interested people as possible will draw more attention on synthetic biology and the iGEM competition.

Gothenburg/Lausanne

The iGEM teams of The University of Chalmers and the University of Lausanne share a blog, in which the public is informed about synthetic biology and medical topics, like cancerous tumours and how to detect them early. We helped them in their effort to make the blog accessible to even more people, by translating a blog post into our native language.

Toulouse

We met up with team Toulouse in an online meeting, since both our projects are in part based on microfluidics. We presented our projects and discussed the microfluidic parts of the projects on both sides, leading to important new ideas.

Tübingen

We went to Tübingen in order to meet the local iGEM team at their headquarters, where we presented our projects to each other. This led to a fruitful discussion, starting at advice for managing sponsors as well as social media presence, then moving on to general improvements in the team organisation and finally resulting in crucial new ideas regarding both projects.
