Overview
Since April, when we confirmed the cooperative relationship, we have had a long-term and
in-depth cooperation with SCUT-China. Over the past few months, we have had in-depth exchanges
in four areas: hardware devices, mathematical modeling, offline publicity and laboratory work.
Try your best to offer advice or ideas and use each other's strengths to help each other when
they are in trouble. At the same time, we will discuss the overall project progress and
optimization points together. During this time, we developed a cooperative relationship of
mutual trust and support.
1 Regular online and offline meetups
Our team members had a meeting with SCUT-China in South China University of Technology to discuss
the improvement of our projects, especially of modeling parts. We introduced our projects and
tried to find out a better version of GYHS’s experiment.
We always kept in touch with SCUT-China periodically, facilitating online and in-person meetings
to discuss our issues and ideas. Depending on the progress of the project and the needs of each
team, ,we will hold regular communication meetings from April to September to discuss modeling,
wikis, human practices and wet labs, and try to find the best way to improve the project.

modeling and
wiki.
In human practice aspect, we offered a fieldwork venue for our cooperation in order to spread our
concepts of the projects. Mainly focusing on modeling and hardware, SCUT and the instructors
South China University of Technology gave us sparks of innovations and general instructions.
With the harmonious cooperation, we reached a successful offline campaign in our school. At the
same time, the software for color detecting are designed together.
2 Education
Public propaganda activity in Guangdong Guangya High School with 7 members from SCUT-China.
On September 16, 2022, GYHS and our school jointly hosted a garden party. The event was held from
16:40 to 18:00 at Guangya Middle School in Guangdong Province, China. We prepared for the public
welfare activity, made the overall poster, publicized the activity among the students of the
three grades in our school, communicated with the teachers about the reservation, and set up the
venue for the activity. Students from South China University of Technology also participated in
the preparatory work and site layout of this activity. In order to publicize the biological
knowledge of synthetic biology and expand the influence of the two teams, we divided the
activity into several parts, such as synthetic biology knowledge publicity, phage knowledge
answering game, two teams' propaganda video presentation and explanation session, and plant
friction activity. We designed each booth, as well as the way the whole event was conducted, to
ensure that all aspects of the event could be carried out smoothly. After completing the jigsaw,
students can get random gifts such as key rings and tote bags from GHYS and SCUT-China. For this
in-school activity, SCUT conducted a survey of HP in the hope that they could be optimized in
this module; The project of our team has also been widely spread in our school.

3 Model
Modeling discussion for GYHS’s project with the technical help from SCUT.
Mathematical modeling here the SCUT-China team once proposed to us, that is, to establish the
relationship between the concentration of ordinary differential equations and RGB, but today's
mathematical modeling class provides the idea of using statistical methods for research. The
idea of Image Colorimetric Detection is designed to get color data from 50 pixels in a
controllable round region through phone camera. The bacteria concentration is correlated with
the color signal, and can be calculated by the formula:
when a1 and b1 are constants predetermined in our experiment, and IR is given by ICD. Their
member who is accountable for modelling also came to the lecture and then discussed the
co-production results.

4 Hardware
Troubleshooting in hardware design and implementation
On August 22nd, we started an online discussion about the hardware appliance with SCUT members.
They gave us suggestion of using size shaker with our sample-adding model. After considering the
experiment condition of the rural area if we want to put this model into reality, we decided to
take this suggestion when designing the model for lab-based clinics and small hospitals. With
this suggestion, our product can be used in a more convenient way focusing on the detection of
food poisoning source of bacteria.
