The 2022 IGEM project is a collaborative project between Southwest Jiaotong University and Georgia State University.
Our final decision to talk about biofuels as a theme was actually voted for by all the members of the two universities. We carefully weighed the two possible projects, identified the advantages and disadvantages of each project, and voted fairly and openly to determine the final topic.
Subsequently, the two universities took on different tasks for the project. SWJTU is mainly responsible for the search for relevant information in the early stage and the arrangement of experimental affairs, etc. And GSU is mainly responsible for evaluating whether the experimental method is feasible and some specific experimental parts of the project.
In addition, GSU and SWJTU students worked together on HP's mission to gather information from both countries, and to make our project as relevant as possible worldwide. SWJTU students completed the WIKI with the help of GSU students.
We had two meetings on how to determine the project name and how to determine the script for the 2022IGEM project. Students from both China and the United States shared their thoughts, and we spoke freely at the meeting. Through the online voting mechanism, we chose " Synkhlorum" as the title of our competition this year. In addition, the script was written by GSU students, SWJTU students and GSU classmates filmed together, and finally completed our project promotional video.
Despite language and time zone barriers, such as meeting with a 12-hour time difference, we were able to coordinate our work and collaborate throughout
the project. We had a lot of fun together and will continue to do so for the rest of the year. We look forward to a good cooperation in the future.
