Collaborations

Throughout the summer we have collaborated with iGEM McGill to co-host a Mini Jamboree event where iGEM teams could meet up, listen to speakers, present their projects, get feedback from judges about their project and more.
This two day event featured 7 teams from all around Eastern Canada, including about 60 participants, and was hosted at Concordia University, the home of Canada’s first Genome Foundry. It was a great opportunity for teams to meet each other, exchange ideas, and speak with experts in the field.

He and judge Steven Li took Concordia's iGEM 2020- 2021 project forward as Phase II competitors in the Deep Space Food Challenge, with project funding from the Canadian Space Agency; Gabe is starting his Master's this fall with the SynBioApps program, and Steven is a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Samy Benhamz

Samy is a former Concordia student who finished his BEng in 2020 and co-founded CAPSolar which grew directly out of his Bachelor thesis project team work. CAPSolar got their first contract this year, installing their solar module on club car vehicles!

Pamela Champage

Based at Concordia University, District 3 is a leading innovation hub in Montreal open to all. They develop multidisciplinary teams and scientific entrepreneurs that harness emerging technologies to create businesses with an impact. Pamela is a Venture Associate at D3.
