Team Members' Attributions

Each of our team members is extensively involved in the team's activities, so we have recorded here the main contributions of each team member to the team. The records on this page include only the most important parts of each team member's work, and do not imply that he or she is not involved in anything other than that. The list below is in alphabetical order of their name.

Bangyan Kong

Bangyan Kong is the team leader and the project's chief designer. He arranges the work of team members. He communicates with our PIs and instructors to guarantee those wonderful ideas can be carried out. He is the main leader in the non-sterilized fermentation of Vibrio natriegens with seawater experiment completion.

Dawei You

Dawei You is our key member of the project. He participated in the preliminary investigation of the construction of target strains, experimental design, and the expansion of high-quality external cooperation. He is currently in charge of speeding up the implementation of the project.

Hui Sun

Sun Hui participated in the experiment and human practice. In the experiment, she focused on the detection and molecular identification of bisabolol, which provided the basis for the biosynthesis of bisabolol in the early stage. She is also responsible for and involved in the popular science knowledge of synthetic biology for junior high school students.

Jinao Wang

Jinao Wang is mainly responsible for the wiki pages. He is also the editor of ONCE's official WeChat account, which published articles about the team's product and other essential information such as market analysis. In addition, he also helped with some of the dry lab experiments, running programs to find the integration sites for the Nissle 1917 genome.

Linyu Zheng

Linyu Zheng is a member of our team. She is responsible for the preliminary investigation of the technical route and patent related to the synthesis of red myrrh alcohol and participates in sorting and designing yeast integration sites and formulating other experimental schemes.

Siyuan Li

Siyuan Li played an important role in both wet lab and dry lab. He was responsible for our rational design of CcBOS and performed many of our characteristic experiments. Ahead of labwork, he also conducted the literature review and technical analysis of (-)-α-bisabolol synthesis. He attended most collaborations with other teams, too.

Shizheng Tian

Shizheng Tian is our key member in the wet lab. He is responsible for our plasmid building and the culture of Vibrio natriegens. Without whom, none of our plasmid and the date of a-bisabolol will ever exist. He participated in molecular experiments, project design, and parts design.

Yiying Zhang

Yiying Zhang is a key member of our academic group. In the prior period of our project, she participated in the technical investigation of bisabolol synthesis. As the project moves, she is responsible for parts of plasmid construction. She also engages in dry lab work. For example, she is responsible for the genome comparison of different Vibrio Natriegens strains and the collaboration in modeling with CAFA.

Yanfeng Liu

Yanfeng Liu plays an important role in our team. He offered inspiration for the project design and proof of concept. He modified the experimental design of the Vibrio natriegens. In addition, he participated in the human practices activities and our entrepreneurship effort.

Yuqi Wang

Yuqi Wang is our key member in commercialization and human practices. He is responsible for making a product strategy and communicating with capital to seek investment. He arranged many online and offline pitching activities. Meanwhile, he learned and exchanged industry information with clients and the market, which improved the commercialization possibilities of our team. He participated in running and charging the start-up company ONCE.

Yunzhe Kang

Yunzhe Kang is one of our team leaders. As an experienced iGEMer, he is responsible for our project re-design, most of our administrative work, and communication with partners, sponsors, and other iGEM teams. Also participated in our experiments, especially in gene synthesis. Meanwhile, he is also a member of our creative group for video clipping.

Yuxuan Shen

Yuxuan Shen is our key member in the wet lab. She is responsible for our information research, literature collection, and some experiments, such as measuring the seawater quality. At the same time, she participated in online communication activities and shared ideas with others to improve the team's influence.

Yuelin Yang

Yuelin Yang is a wet lab member of BNSC_China. Her main responsibilities were human practice and lab work, including the cultivation and preservation of various experimental expression strains, the search and determination of target gene sequences, and the purity identification of synthetic products. She also contributed to the WeChat tweets. She has participated in many online communication activities.

Yilong Xu

Yilong Xu is the major designer and executor of wet lab work and plays an important role in the project's design. He characterized parts, de novo synthesized BOS, and engineered our fast-growth yeast strain. He also demonstrated the combination of UIP and FPP pathways in E. coli. What's more, he also participated in human practice.

Zhenwen Lee

Zhenwen Lee is a key member of the human practice. He is responsible for communicating with other groups and collecting professional materials. He participated in many online and offline communication activities. Meanwhile, he learned and exchanged relevant knowledge and also guided the students in the lower grades, which improved the influence of our team. He participated in scholarly communication and the work of collecting information.

Others

CAFA_China

CAFA_China helped us a lot on art design and communication skills. Our team logo and some visual contents are produced by CAFA_China, and they are attributed in corresponding contents.

Xiaoying Li

Xiaoying Li is a friend of us, iGEM alumna from CPU_CHINA. She helped up alot on visual design, such as wiki homepage and other visual contents. Attributions were also made in corresponding contents if possible.

Sponsorships

Bluepha

Blupha is our main sponsor throughout this project. Bluepha provided us neccesarry fundings and laboratory. Without the help of Bluepha, ONCE would never exist. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Bluepha, a synbio company founded by Chinese iGEM alumni, which we regard as our pioneer.

Twist Bioscience

Twist have provided us 10 kb of free DNA synthesis, which released our wet lab team and promoted our project.
