Summary

Our collection of parts was developed to facilitate the work with Saccharomyces cerevisiae through simplified handling and increased flexibility. This was achieved by a strong modification of the pSB3C0X vector. The most significant modification of the vector was achieved by introducing a new recombination site with aeBlue as chromoprotein. The trans-Yeast Collection


This part collection was designed together with the iGEM team TU Dresden and contains different parts that enables a streamlined workflow for cloning yeast expression vectors. Especially the newly developed shuttle vectors should play a decisive role since their design focused on easy handling and high flexibility. Easy handling is achieved by visible color changes of the Escherichia coli colonies indicating which constructs have already been added to the vector. Flexibility is provided by the chromoprotein cassette that we have added. The collection therefore includes five shuttle vectors for level 2 assembly and the vectors of the team from Dresden that were designed for level 1 assembly.
