Wisconsin Lutheran College

The WLC-Milwaukee iGEM team gives its sincere thanks to Wisconsin Lutheran College for providing our team with excellent faculty and facilities. We are all incredibly grateful for the opportunities provided to us throughout our education here. Without Wisconsin Lutheran College, none of this would have been possible.

Dr. John Werner

Dr. John Werner, professor of biology at Wisconsin Lutheran College, has been invaluable to our iGEM team. Dr. Werner is not just our team’s PI, but a great friend and role model for our team. He has not only been able to guide our project in the right direction, but has also inspired us to fall in love with science and develop a passion for synthetic biology. Thank you, Dr. Werner!

Dr. Angela Ebeling

Dr. Angela Ebeling, professor of biology at Wisconsin Lutheran College, was very helpful in educating the team on our project this year. Dr. Ebeling has a doctorate in soil science so she was able to give us helpful information about the varying components of soil and how they could impact our project. She also was able to help us with our promotion video. Thank you, Dr. Ebeling!

Janet Gamble

We thank Janet Gamble, who is the farm manager at Turtle Creek Gardens! Janet’s valuable insights about the importance of nutrient testing for farmers helped us to understand what nutrients would be useful for farmers to quantify with our kit.

Steven Voight

Steven Voight is a generational dairy farmer and owner of Voight Farms LLC. Steven emphasized the importance of clear, understandable instructions in our proposed kit. We are very grateful for Steven’s opinions and advice!

Eric Rose

We thank Eric Rose, a Milwaukee-area vegetable farmer who gave us input on our proposed soil testing kit with regards to nutrient types and test accuracy!

Bernadette Seely

We thank Bernadette Seely, a family owner of Springdale Farms, for her encouragement and advice for our proposed soil testing kit!

Ryan Schmidt

Ryan Scmidt is a dairy farmer and crop farmer for Schmidt dairy farms who gave us insightful views into how results regarding soil are used by farmers. We are grateful for Ryan’s advice and feedback!
