This page talks about members of IGEM team UIUC of 2022.
My name is Adrianne Adaya and I am currently a Junior majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Material Science and Engineering. I joined iGEM because of the freedom it gave us to work on a problem we believe should be solved. It gave me an introduction to synthetic biology and has taught me many skills that will help me in advancing my career.
My name is Airah Zaidi and I’m a junior studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I joined iGEM to learn the process of initiating a project and working through it. I hope to use these skills in my biology lab experiences.
My name is Vedanta Vishnu Kompella, and I’m a sophomore in Physics. I joined iGEM for the purpose of expanding my theoretical knowledge and love for synthetic biology. Throughout my time in iGEM, I have gained a plethora of wet lab experience and real world knowledge about synthetic biology.
My name is Angela Wang and I am a Junior majoring in Biochemistry. I joined iGEM to challenge myself, meet new people, and work as part of a creative and collaborative team!
My name is Megan Zhou and I am currently a Junior majoring in Bioengineering. I joined iGEM because I was interested in working with synthetic biology and because I wanted to build research and presentation skills that I hope will help me in graduate school.
My name is Melissa Chin, and I am a Junior in Chemical Engineering, minoring in Materials Science and Engineering. I applied for iGEM with the hope of learning more about biology, which is not a heavily-covered topic in my major. I enjoyed being able to choose the direction in which the team went in, and learned a lot while contributing to this project.
I study Mechanical Engineering (minor in CS & ECE) and am looking forward to do more research on biology. I think IGEM could be a good starting point for my research here at UIUC. To me, biology is much different from the stuff I have learnt so far and I enjoy (while also suffering ಥ_ಥ) learning it.yeah, I was also wondering why mechanical students would be here, guess I was just so interested in GMO
Thanks for the collaborator teams and the sponsor of our university
