Part Collection

Our team has put together a parts collection. This collection is intended for use in the construction of a replication-incompetent ghost Cyanophage. The phage is constructed from capsid components of S-TIP37, a Cyanophage with known host specificity for Synechococcus sp. WH8102 and WH8109, lab adapted marine strains of Cyanobacteria that have similarities to Synechococcus PCC11901, an emerging synthetic biology chassis.

This parts collection is intended for MoClo assembly and has been designed to be compatible with the iGEM Type IIS assembly via Golden Gate. Basic parts represent the level 0 assembly and are taken from S-TIP37 coding sequences published on The National Institutes of Health National Center for Biotechnology Information (NIH NCBI) Gene bank. Level 1 parts include a promoter, RBS, and terminator sequence to create transcriptional units. Level 2 parts are multi-transcriptional unit assemblies, and level 3 parts represent the assembly of the multi-transcriptional units into the final phagemid.
