Hi guys! I’m Lilian He (He Zhiyan), a rising senior from Shanghai Pinghe School. I’m found of learning neuroscience and psychology, and I like to draw and play badminton in my spare time. Being a member of plan beta, I’m super excited to cooperate with my team-members who are very friendly and helpful. In IGEM, all of us do the work of dry lab and wet lab, which enabled us to be exposed to different field, and I learned a lot in the process of training. I really appreciate iGEM not only because I get the chance to learn and operate the experiment of genetic engineering, but also because I can held interesting activities to promote our program. I’m glad to be in this team and looking forward to collaborate with everyone!

Hi there, I’m Xinyun Li. Currently, I am a grade eleven student in Shanghai Pinghe School. In iGEM, I participate as a member of the Wet Lab, but also assist in the dry lab’s assignments. In middle school, I was accidentally fascinated by neuroscience, so I spend my leisure time reading IB biology books and the latest papers. Thanks to iGEM, I was given a precious opportunity to be delicate in the experiment and spend time in the laboratory. Beside acedamic experience, I am an athlete girl who likes playing soccer and tennis with my friends. For college, I hope to pursue my career in the field of biology, especially neuroscience.

Hello everyone, my name is Aaron Cao (Cao Shijun) and I’m a student from Pinghe Bilingual School. In my sparse time, I like to play billiards and play APEX legend. I’m a member of Plan-β. As a member in this team, I learned how to pursue the social responsibility and how to educate the public. In the future, I want to major in finance or economics. I’m deeply attracted by the stock market and the fluctuation in stock market make me exited. Besides, when I was cooperate with other teammate who have professional biological knowledge, I learned lots of related information of synthetic biology.

Hi, everyone! I am Eva yu (YU WENYI) , from plan beta. Now in grade 11 in the AP course from Shanghai Pinghe School. My favorite subjects are chemistry, psychology, biology. In life I like tennis, cello, piano. In the eyes of others, I am a quiet and introverted person, but in my own eyes I am a lively and active person who is willing to constantly try and make mistakes. That's why I love experimenting, constantly trying, trial and error, and finally succeeding. I enjoy doing experiments, and in the process of doing experiments I can not only learn about biology, but also strengthen my understanding of this knowledge. I believe that through the whole process of participating in igom, through the continuous efforts of me and my teammates, I will definitely be able to achieve a good result in the end!

I’m Lu Yuwei (Corrine) from Shanghai Pinghe School. I want to be a scientist in the field of genetic engineering and an amateur in astronomy. Thanks to iGEM, I gain the opportunity to work in a wet lab and get an idea about what it’s like to work in university laboratories, meet my teammates and our mentors, and for the first time, to involve in dry lab work. Besides iGEM, I’m currently doing research about Alzheimer’s Disease drug repurposing and SARS-CoV-2 interspecies transmission to practice my skills for my future career. So this summer, I get to discover both the field of synthetic biology and bioinformatics. Hail iGEM!

Greetings! I am Siyuan Dong (Joseph) from United World College Costa Rica. I come from mainland China and I am currently contributing my knowledge for the publicity and paperworks of the research programme conducted by Team Plan β. I, personally, am a fan of hisitory of medieva theology as well as left-wing politics and business management. Thanks to this research opportunity, I gained the possibility of integrate the fields that I devoted efforts in with various pratical subjects and skills that I had few chances to get to know of. Hoping to further enhance and demonstrate my skills through this intoxicating activity.

Hi, my name is Li Yunru, from Shanghai Pinghe School. I’m particularly interested in mathematics and finance. I also like to watch soccer matches and my home team is Bayern München. Hope one day I could go to Allianz Arena and experience the enthusiasm of soccer of local people. I not only want to develop my modeling ability in the finance area but also want to try modeling in biology and that’s the reason why I participate in iGEM. I’m delighted to join the Pinghe school team - plan β and I believe it’s going to be an unforgettable experience.

Hello everyone, I am Alan Zhang (XINCHI ZHANG) from Pinghe iGEM team—plan β. Although being heavily swayed by my parents who were both working in the field of finance, I have chosen biology as my intended major due to a sudden burst of interest for biology coming from nowhere. I hope I can dive deeper into the field of biology without losing the interest of it, therefore, I chose to join the web lab to get used to the exhaustion of standing all day in the laboratory. Luckily, the experiments were fun, therefore, these times past by quickly. I am glad that I joined this team and hope that I can make contributions to our team.

Hi, I am Amy Sun (SIWEN SUN) from Pinghe iGEM team—plan β. Thanks to my science teacher in primary school and my parents, I built up a deep interest in biology from a very young age. Besides that, I also love swimming and have insisted for more than ten years. For me, I think insisting on one thing and doing the best is more meaningful than doing a lot but plain for all, so I would probably continue to go deeper on what I already loved for so long. However, it does not mean that I am repellent to trying new things, in fact, I am always willing to find new interests.

Hi, I am Fay Liu(Liu Qifei). I am 16 years old and studying at Shanghai Pinghe School. I’m a big fan of sports and calligraphy. I love to play basketball, volleyball, and table tennis. After being a sports guy for five or six years and getting awards and injuries, I became very interested in kinesiology. It brings me into the biology field and solves some of the injuries during basketball games. In my spare time, I also study calligraphy. Calligraphy is what draws my attention back from the chaotic life. I may calm down and relax once I pick up my pen. After all, I’m glad to joy the IGEM Pinghe team, and I hope we can achieve our goal.

Hello, this is Ella Ren (Yian Ren) from plan β. I am an 11th grade student at Shanghai Pinghe School. Studying biology can be considered a family tradition for me. My mother started teaching me biology with simple stories as early as kindergarten. This developed my strong interest in biology, and I explored some interest in economics in high school. iGEM provides me with an opportunity to train my skills in both areas.I am a patient and active person, so I have enough patience to continuously try and correct mistakes during the experiments, and am willing to participate in all kinds of tasks. I believe that through the efforts of my teammates and me, we will be able to achieve our goal.
