Fundraising

Objectives

To inform the public about the advantages of synthetic MCFAs technology, to raise funds to help the world's overweight population, and to promote awareness of environmental protection.

Process

1. We decided to sell keychains, T-shirts, canvas bags, and pillows decorated with our team logo. We also sell bubble machines, balloons, and postcards. We printed out our team's posters and brochures, which were used to promote our team's environmental and health philosophy to the public during our fundraising activities.

2. We went to pre-designed areas to introduce iGEM, our experimental design, and promote our products.

3. Our members distributed posters and brochures to pedestrians, inform some facts about MCFAs to them and introduce the fundraising campaign.

4. We promote our WeChat online store and introduce our projects and product ideas in our product profiles.

Charity - Night Run

In order to further promote the environmental protection concept of iGEM and planβ, and make more people aware of the importance of health, we decided to organize a public welfare night run around the Juxin R&D building, and we will donate an extra 2 RMB funds to public welfare organizations for every 100 meters run by the participating people, so as to further expand our influence.

Result

So far we have raised a certain amount of money during our fundraising campaign. In order to make more people aware of MCFAs and to make our campaign more meaningful, we decided to donate all the funds raised to people who suffer from excessive obesity. Since our fundraising is still ongoing, the donation will be processed after that.
