Chen-Yu Kao

Leader

Hi! I’m Chen-Yu Kao, one of the leaders this year. Besides distributing work and reaching other teams, I also help in other activities, such as visiting experts, biotech companies, and stock farms. I really enjoyed the process, since I’m a curious person and I like finding answers to my questions. I’m also passionate about programming, so I helped put up our website. It is such an honor to be a part of iGEM, and I have learned a lot. iGEM is definitely a unique part of my high school life, and it will be a lifelong memory.

Michelle Ching

Leader

Hello, my name is Michelle, one of the leaders of our team. I have a devoted passion for art, biology, and, most importantly, animals; hence, I’m honored to be given the opportunity to contribute to a project that could potentially enhance animal welfare. Aside from IGEM, I have held and participated in a myriad range of activities that also required skills such as collaboration and leadership. For instance, I was one of the main organizers of the 2022 Scientific Debate in Mingdao International Department (MDID), the founder of a Coral Rescuing Campaign and Loving Paws Fundraiser, and the winner of the 2019 MDID Science Fair. With these experiences, I strive to guide our team to success.

Wei Chieh Chin

Wet Lab Leader

I'm Wei Chieh Chin, or you can call me Jackie. I am the leader of the wet lab. I'm passionate about designing and conducting experiments. I enjoy the happiness that doing experiments brings me. Besides contributing to wet lab, I’ve also devoted myself to HP, where I visited experts and biotech companies, met up and collaborated with other IGEM teams.IGEM is the biggest challenge I have ever made, and I hope all our efforts can lead us to great success.

Shen-Ho Lui

Dry Lab Leader

I am Shen-Ho from Taiwan, and I am the head of the dry lab team for this project. I specialize in mathematics, algorithms, machine learning, and programming. My team and I are responsible for the making of our website and various other tasks associated with the processing of our data. I am also currently the founder and the head of Pechor––a platform that makes it easy for users to discover relevant content and interact with like-minded people.

Bo-Yu Lin

HP Leader

I’m Winnie, also the leader of the HP team this year. Since I’ve always been interested in communicating and collaborating with others, being on the HP team really gives me the opportunity to combine this passion with real-world problem solving skills. I believe the “Human Practice” is where we can break the cold boundaries between experiments and reality, and thus feel a strong sense of responsibility to execute multiple tasks.While making unforgettable memories and overcoming obstacles, I truly wish our efforts can pay off!

Rou-Xuan Xie

Wet Lab

Hi! I’m Rou-Xuan Xie, one of the wet lab members. My main job is to do the experiments. I’ve always had a strong interest in biology, which is why I joined iGEM. The preparation of iGEM indeed brings me a lot of bio knowledge and improves my scientific literacy and my experimental skill. Though the process is full of challenges, we didn’t give up, instead, we regard them as teachers that we can learn a lot from. Joining the Mingdao iGEM team is the most special experience for me in my high school days.Expecting to see a great result after all the efforts we made!

Ting-Yu Ou

Hello, my name is Ting-Yu Ou, and I am a member of wet lab. I joined our IGEM team because I was interested in the experiments we conducted. I am responsible for the E.coli experiment and the antibody experiment, and I also did some research on vaccines. By joining IGEM, I have learned a lot about experiments and how to do research in English effectively. I hope we can get a great result after all the efforts we made.

Meisner Tsai

Hi, I'm Meisner Tsai. I worked in the wet lab in our IGEM team, and I took part in many of our experiments. I'm also in charge of the projects that we worked on. Moreover, I participated in designing most of the experiments,and discussed with my teammates.

Yu Cheng Liu

Hi, my name is Yu Cheng Liu, you can also call me James.I mainly do experiments on phage collecting, and I also helped train the next Mingdao iGEM team as well as do a part of HP. In this iGEM team, I really enjoy learning and doing experiments, and I hope I can keep doing research in the future.

Pei-Jung Chang

Hi, I am Pei-Jung Chang, or you can call me Sophie. I’m one of the members of HP, and I also enjoy doing experiments, therefore I support the WET lab sometimes. I’m not such an extrovert person, but I like kids and enjoy teaching them, so I chose to hold the elementary school summer camp and joined other activities related to education. It is my pleasure to join the iGEM team, which has really broadened my horizons. I learned a lot about the ability to deal with things in iGEM, and it’s a precious treasure which will benefit me a lot in my lifetime.

Ting-Hsuan Hsu

I am Ting-Hsuan Hsu, a member of Wet Lab and Human Practice group. In iGEM, my main job is to help Wei Chieh Chin do the experiment of E.coli and hold the molecular biology education camp in primary schools.And also I participate in collaboration activities. iGEM gave me a lot of biological knowledge and a whole new understanding of genetic modification that I never touched before. Although joining the iGEM team encountered many difficult things, it was the most meaningful and unforgettable time in my high school.

Shao-Hong Ku

I'm one of the members of the wet lab. I have been interested in the field of science since childhood, which is a reason why I joined our iGEM team. I also enjoy doing hands-on experiments. Moreover, I took part in teaching experiment steps and skills to junior students in our school. Hope our efforts can pay off in the end, but my road to science won't stop here.

Hsiu-Yi Wu

My name is Huey. I am strongly interested in biology and its related subjects. I have participated in the iGEM activities since I was a nine grader. However, although I have participated in domestic biology competitions before, this is my first international iGem competition, which is a completely new challenge for me. During the whole process, I have improved my skills for experimentation and learned new knowledge of synthetic and vaccine biology, and I also enjoyed the collaboration with other team members.

Hello, I'm Jia He Wu, or you can call me Hank. I am a member of dry lab. My main job is to edit the wiki. I learn a lot while editing the wiki and also having a good time when we are discussing our wiki page. Being in Mingdao IGEM team is a wonderful thing and I’m glad to be in it. IGEM is the biggest international event that I have ever joined and it is going to be a special memory in my entire life.

Pang-Min Liao

I’m Pang-Min Liao, a member of Dry Lab. I have a strong interest in 3D modeling, as well as a passion for laser cutting and 3D printing. iGEM is one of the largest competitions that I’ve ever participated in. I have worked on making a test machine that our team would’ve used for model design. Although I failed in the end, I still learned a lot about engineering and bioengineering. Thanks to my team members, our project could still proceed smoothly despite my failure. I deeply hope that our team reaches the ultimate success through the collaborative effort of all.

LIN, YU-TING

My name is LIN, YU-TING, one of a member in drylab. I am strongly interests in biology and programming, which is why I participated in designing and coding the web pages in our team. While editing pages, I learned a lot about how can a wiki team operates well, and also some skills in coding in html and css. After our team members put so much efforts, I hope our team will be able to reach the highest achievements in iGEM competition this year.

Max Yu

My name is Max. I have a strong passion in biology and computer science. I also enjoy conducting experiments. I participated in activities in the wet lab and HP. iGEM is my first biology related competition. Throughout the process, I gained new knowledge about the immune system, vaccines, and bioengineering. Furthermore, I have improved my collaboration skills and communication skills in the process of working with my teammates. This is a very enjoyable experience that allowed me to demonstrate my stength and improve my weaknesses.

Aubrey Lin

I’m Aubrey, and I have a craze for English literature and biology. iGEM has truly broadened my horizons, and I gained precious experiences throughout the whole process, such as organizing my thoughts into coherent paragraphs and getting acquainted with all the lab equipment. I am mainly in charge of the wiki content of the project, so my work is to understand what our team has done, and then write it into our wiki in English. I am grateful to have all these supportive teammates, and have high hopes for our project!

Yen-Po Chen

Hi, I’m Yen-Po Chen, but generally friends call me Nathan. I am enthusiastic about holding events and communicating with people.I have joined most of the events of our HP groups. I’m responsible for education, collaboration, marketing and experts. iGEM provided me with challenges that I never experienced before, like writing business proposals, managing communication, and visiting professors and local industries and companies , etc. I've gained lots of experience such as social skills, the ability to express ideas precisely and so on. It was such a great honor to be a member, since I didn't merely study synthetic biology but knowledge that will benefit all my life-time.

TZU-CHUN LIAO

Hi! This is TZU-CHUN LIAO, from Mingdao. As an HP member, I need to cope with numerous matters about communicating with the public and promoting genetic engineering. In this team, I not only introduced biological knowledge to the primary school students by creating card games but also participated in SDGs project proposal competition, which enabled me to spread our spirit to the people through accessing and presenting. Aside from the things above-mentioned, I was responsible for collaboration with other iGEM teams.

Also, as the manager of our team social media account, I am responsible for contacting other iGEM teams. We aim to promote our project and collaborate with different teams. My name is Chun-Te Wu. In our team, I help take photos and clips. Thus, I attend most of the HP activities, mainly to take pictures. But in the process, I've also learned a lot of biological knowledge. I am also the director and editor of our promotion video. iGEM is a precious part of my high school life, and I hope all the efforts we made will pay off!

I'm responsible for promoting iGEM and also participated in a SDGs competition, in which our goal is to promote the elders' vaccination rate. iGEM has taught me many precious lessons, including how to communicate and cooperate with others efficiently. As a member of the HP team, I am in charge of several visits with the experts, corporations, animal husbandry, etc. The igem competition is not only a tall order, but also an extraordinary chance for me to advance the ability to address the problem. Hi, I’m Chia-Chen from the HP team and I usually go by Jennifer. I’m very passionate about biology related events, hence I hope to gain plenty of bio related experience by participating in iGEM. I joined the HP team since communicating with people is one of my most prominent strengths. Min Ching Hello, my name is Min-Yu, but I’m often called Jessica. I am currently one of the HP members of our team; the wiki page along with translations are my primary works in the group. Even though I haven’t been participating in iGEM for a long time, the passion that I have for it rapidly increases as I engage more with the project. I’m able to utilize the acknowledgments gained from the whole process, using them as tools for expanding my worldview. Thanks to people who participate to make our aim practicable!

Jhong-Fu Chen

Hi I'm Chris, a member of HP, and I've always had a high interest and passion for genetic science. I have loved science since I was a child, and biology is my specialty. I was admitted to the Berkeley University Exploring Engineering course in 7th grade. For three consecutive years, on Berkeley's official website, there are my English mottos and photos of the activities. I was also sent by the school to the National University of Singapore to participate in the "Genetic Modification Engineering" research course. I also participated in the debate on whether genetic modification affects human health. For this iGEM competition, I am confident to accept the challenge!
