Our Solution

  • Azadirachtin, a limonoid isolated from the neem tree has attracted considerable interest due to its excellent performance in mosquito repelling and other insect control abilities
  • In this study, an 2,3-oxidosqualene cylase, AiOSC1and a cytochrome oxidase, AiCYP71CD2 have been identified as involved to be azadirachtin biosynthesis in neem. They will be expressed in yeast (saccharomyces cerevisiae DI-3 strain).
  • These two enzymes produce dihydroniloticin an intermediate used in the synthetic production of azadirachtin
  • The synthesized Azadiractin will be blended with either limonene, strawberry, vanilla or lemon grass to improve the odor, and the blend incorporated into a solar based diffuser
