Our PI
Dr. Patrick Vudriko was very instrumental in the developmental phase of our project.
He has accorded the team with the necessary administrative and technical support since the
birth of the team. Dr. Vudriko has also provided lab space at the
RTC lab in Makerere to conduct the experiments.
Our Instructors
Ivy Chimulwa has been steered the team from protocol development, dry and wet lab experiments
and web design. She was also the liason between the technical support team from the gene
fragment sponsors.
Dr. Byamukama Benedicto has provided technical support in the RTC
Laboratory during the experimental phase of the project.
Our Team

Kato Sebunya Emmanuel- Team Lead.
He oversaw the project from inception and has steered the team. In charge of Team leader, finance mobiliser, collaborations coordinator,
video direction, administrative work, promotion video, team logo, digital posters and
advertisements, events and meetings.

He led the team in the experimental part of the project and oversaw the experiments
together with the PI, team lead and instructors..

He has been in charge of drafting official communications put out by the team..

He has been in charge of all social media platforms, the promotional video and graphics..

He has assisted the Head of Communications and Social Media managers..

Kaweesi Yusuf- Team Supervisor.
He has drafted the team schedules for each of the
components of the competition..

Nanyunja Judith- Head of Wet Lab.
She has been in charge of drafting and revising of SOPs for the laboratory experiments..

She has been in charge of the in silico work for the team..

Babirye Damali- Secretary.
She was in charge of organising the periodic meetings organised by the team..

She assisted the secretary by taking notes during the meetings.
