Collaborations
In order to improve the publicity and social influence of our project, we collaborated with JLU_CHINA and HZAU-CHINA. We also joined Gut Alliance, which also includes HZ_CHINA, LZU-CHINA, NWU-CHINA-A, NEU_CHINA, and WS_HZBIOX, to further increase the depth of our cooperation. In addition, we are constructing a plan of collaboration with BIT-CHINA. We actively participated in the 9th Conference of China iGEMer Community (CCiC) as well.
We held online meetups with JLU_CHINA and HZAU-CHINA separately. Through our communications in these meetings, we fully understood the subjects and contents of each other’s projects, the research plan and our progress, and the social impact that we are trying to achieve with our projects. We explored possible directions for collaboration. Meanwhile we participated in the online meetings of Gut Alliance. With all other participants, we discussed the content of our projects, shared our achievements and explored possibilities for further communication and cooperation.
JLU_CHINA
During our virtual meetup, JLU_CHINA introduced us an instruction handbook for new iGEMers that they’re working on with other teams. Every team participated in making this handbook had encountered commonly-occurring obstacles that new teams usually face in the early stage of our projects. We think most of the problems have common characteristics, so we noted down the basic problems encountered during the organization of our teams and the process of the whole competition. We also provided our solutions to these problems in this handbook as suggestions to later teams. Through this manual, we also hope to arouse the interest and passion of our classmates on Synthetic Biology, make the competition easier for them, enhance their knowledge about iGEM, and encourage them to join in and participate actively with boldness in their action. We are going to publish and promote this handbook through our social media accounts.
HZAU-CHINA
Through in-depth communication with HZAU-CHINA, we decided to launch a purchase guide for probiotic health products. The research projects of our teams are all related to probiotics, which founded a knowledge basis for constructing the guide. We searched all sorts of materials of probiotic health products of all functions, pointed out some easy mistakes for purchase and usage, and gave reasonable suggestions. This purchase guide is to solve problems in purchase decision and potential usage for those who know little about the functions of the probiotic health products, especially the elderly. We hope to direct them toward the products that serve them best. We are going to publish and promote this guide through our social media accounts.
Gut Alliance
Through our communication in Gut Alliance’s virtual meetings, we decided to create a publicity handbook for our organization as a group. The handbook includes all sorts of knowledge about human gut, and introduction of each member’s iGEM project. Through our cooperation we hope to introduce knowledge about human gut to more people, and to let them know our projects, recognize the impact of our projects, and eventually benefit from our projects. We are going to publish and promote our handbook on social media.
CCiC
In order to communicate with other teams, to improve each other’s proposal, and to contribute to introducing Synthetic Biology to more people, we actively participated in CCiC. We joined the seminars of experts invited by CCiC’s organizing committee, made a poster about our research project, publicized our project to other teams, and discussed the project from each team with all teams participating in the event and did some troubleshooting.
