Xu Jacob Ze Jia
My name is Jacob, and I am the team captain of LZU-HS-China-C. Personally, I am a pretty outgoing person and enjoy socializing a lot. My hobbies are sports and music and I spend considerable time in doing them. I became interested in biology overall starting around middle school, and this interest has grown over the years. Although said, iGEM has been my first formal introduction to synthetic biology. Through this experience, I hope to learn more about the subject and, at the same time, cultivate my abilities in leading and teamworking.
Haolan Zhu
I am Haolan Zhu, the Dry Lab captain of LZU-HS-China-C. I am an outgoing and versatile person. I spent my whole childhood on sports and instruments. These experiences shape me as an enterprising and unyielding person. I have learned biology since elementary school, and my interest in synthetic biology has grown over time. Along with this interest comes the desire to solve social problems through my knowledge and ideas. iGem is my first formal practice of synthetic biology, and I hope to take this precious opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of synthetic biology as well as improve my academic abilities and leadership skills.

Hi! I am Linda Jiang from team LZU-HS-China-C. As the Art & Design' leader, I am responsible for designing
and beautifying our team‘s wiki website. Besides that, I contirbuted to the 'Education' and 'Collaboration'
programs as well as the construction of wiki website.
Due to my interest in synthetic biology (Biochemistry in general), I become one of the members of the Wet Lab team. I even learned the language Latin in order to better understand the roots of the words!
The process of learning and understanding the influences of the field of synthetic biology is simply fascinating. Growing up, I have seen how knowledge combining with technology has improved our society and environment, making me really interested in the field of Biochemistry. Really looking forward to the rest of my journey!
Jim
My name is Jim. I am the wet lab leader of the program. I am a very extrovert person and am glad to hear feedback from my teammates in order to improve myself or the project. I have had an extreme passion for synthetic biology since I visited the BGI museum and found lots of interesting facts about biology and genetics. With the help of the iGem competition, I am going to gain a lot of knowledge and change from a layman to a passionate little scientist.

I’m a playful girl. I love doing hands-on experiments. Therefore, biology and chemistry became my favorite subjects. I participated in a few chemistry competitions and have written a conference paper. Moreover, I will be participating in two biology competitions and working in a hospital as a volunteer. I feel truly excited to have the chance to work with the iGEMers. Really looking forward to learning from everyone and everybody cooperating together as a team!

Considering the formation of life and constructions of the world, these two most attractive subjects have brought me joy and excitement during my school years. In this group work, Linda and I worked together on the design part to make our PPT look more organized and beautiful. At the same time, I was also responsible for video editing.

Hi y’all, this is Sirui Zeng, leader of Team WeChat Official Account Operation & Team Entrepreneurship. I currently live in the Bay, California. Some fun facts about me are that: I’m an INTP and also a Ravenclaw. I like both hip-pop and k-pop music, and 88rising and NCT are my two favorite groups. My passion in Synthetic Biology is to “redesign” the existing organisms so that they can be used for other useful purposes. The progress of redesigning has always been my enthusiasm.

I'd like to describe myself as a shutterbug because I’m keen on recording all beautiful moments of life. I am also into reading and playing the violin. Lastly, I like synthetic biology because I believe that I will gain a deep insight into the field of the environment, energy, and health care. I participated in iGEM for searching the program to meet my curiosity, improving technical skills, and getting more experience in teamwork.

The subject I'm most interested in at school is environmental science because human development is inseparable from energy use, and synthetic biology is essential for global sustainability: to design and retrofit biological systems from scratch according to targets.

I contribute to the module in our website and namely summarize the useful and innovative concepts and points used in our project that could help to contribute to the iGem team in future.I have lots of interests, some of which are skateboarding and history reading.At the same time, synthetic biology really satisfy my curiosity about the nature and human kind cause it solves tons of mysteries. Synthetic is like a all round ‘hub’ which actually connect with any other scientific field such like physics and chemistry. In this sense, learning synthetic biology is a good way for me to enlarge my view in terms of academic area.
