This year, DTU BioBuilders put specific emphasis on our outreach and education efforts. We realize that the synthetic biology community as a whole carries a huge responsibility to educate the future generations and general society, simply because of the immense potential within our field to address the challenges our shared planet faces, and in particular to address the SDGs. Thus, we organized and held multiple workshops for kids in collaboration with the biggest science center in Denmark and The Technical University of Denmark. We further developed educational material now anchored on a big provider of Danish STEM material, and created a board game showing synthetic biology as the fun, creative and collaborative field we know and love. Further, to ensure as big an outreach as possible we have appeared in a 2.5 min long spot on national TV during prime time to advocate for our project and synthetic biology.
