My name is Kai-Yang and I’m graduating in the class of 2023 with the intended major of either Environmental Science or Physics. My passion in the sciences led me to participate in iGEM and I am part of the social media team. In my free time, I watch+play pretty much every mainstream sport and I’ve recently started to get into the world of anime.

Charlotte

My name is Charlotte Hsu. I’m a senior at KCIS. I’m looking forward to broadening my knowledge with the opportunity to join iGEM. As a student interested in science, I’m intended to major in biology at University. Besides academics, I spend my free time doing dance covers, listening to music, and discovering new places around the city. A fun fact about me is that I often live on the wrong side of the the time zone.

Victoria

My name is Victoria Wang, and I am a senior at Kang Chiao International School. My interest in biology led me to join the iGEM, giving me the opportunity to produce tangible results that could help solve real-world problems. I want to pursue a biological sciences major. By doing so, I hope to continue broadening my understanding of biology while strengthening it through conducting research in college. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing tennis and listening to music.

Hi! My name is Hao-Hung, and I am a senior at Kang Chiao International School. I joined iGem because I find synthetic biology and science extremely interesting. In my spare time, I like to play computer games and read novels.

Chloe

Hi my name is Chloe and I am a senior at Kang Chiao International School. During my free time, I like to read books and watch Netflix! I am also a big foodie, so exploring the different kinds of food is also one of my hobbies.

Lira

Hi my name is Lira. I am a senior at Kang Chiao international school, and who was interested in animal biology, and anatomy. After joining the iGEM team, it inspired my interest in synthetic biology, and I become open to venturing into other interesting fields in the future. Moreover, I like watching TV and dancing in my free time.

Laurence

My name is Laurence Chen, I am currently a senior at Kang Chiao International School in Taiwan. As a sports enthusiast, I like to participate in different types of sports, including basketball, volleyball, and triathlon. It’s also why I like biology in general, as it could be applied to sports and our bodies. In the future, I hope to study biology-related majors and apply the knowledge to the world.

Terry

Hi, I am Terry, the team captain of iGEM_Xiugang_Taipei. I am interested in chemistry and hopefully will major in chemical engineering. I am socially isolated; the only social media I use is Line and Gmail.

Grace

Hi! My name is Grace, and I am a senior at Kang Chiao International School. With an interest in biology engineering, I participated in iGEM. Through the course not only have I learned laboratory skills, I discovered how synthetic biology is applied in our lives. In my spare time, I enjoy dancing Latin ballroom dance and baking.

Andrew

My name is Andrew Chou. I am a student at Kang Chiao international school who is passionate about mathematics and natural sciences, and I hope to pursue an engineering major and career in the future. I enjoy taking part in sports clubs such as triathlon, basketball, soccer, table tennis, and volleyball, and I also like playing different instruments including the violin, the piano, and the guitar. Despite now taking biology as a course, I still joined the iGEM team to expand my knowledge, hoping that I can utilize what I have learned in iGEM in my life in the future.

Phoebe

My name is Phoebe, and I am a senior at Kang Chiao International School. Especially amazed by the potential impact synthetic biology makes in our lives, my intended major in university is molecular biology and biochemistry. Some of my interests include playing the cello and creative writing.

My name is Kate Wang. Joining iGEM is an opportunity for me to increase my knowledge of the fields I’m interested in, which are science and molecular biology. I also enjoy playing basketball and watching movies during my spare time.

Hi my name is Ted. I am interested in taking a Electrical Engineering course at the University. My interests are doing some programming and playing basketball. I also have played CanoePolo before.

Primary PI, Ms. Tarn Parker

When I’m not worried about students being able to manage the iGEM project, I enjoy teaching Chemistry and Environmental Science, and hanging out with my cat.

Instructor, Ms. Hui Ching Kuo

When I was in Alaska, I was inspired by stem cells researches; the more I dug in, the more complex it got to know nothing was black and white only. That’s when I realized I was intrigued by molecular biology, leading me to my 15 years of research journey in the USA, to do chromatin, RNA decay mechanisms, developmental biology, and cancer research. I also loved outdoor activities, even when I swam and did mountain biking, those were the best time for me to think about the projects. Now, as a science teacher at Kang Chiao, my goal is to pass down my passion for doing research to my students.

Ms. Sally Lin

My name is Sally. I am an administrator at Kang Chiao International School. I have always been fascinated by the mechanism in biology which is the reason why I studied life sciences at university. I like to grow some plants and watch series in my free time.
