- Our Team -
Samuel
Hello everybody, my name is Samuel from Greatbay SCIE, 2022. I'm currently a G2 student. I’m a biology enthusiast and it's one of my biggest hobby (another is playing video games). Finally, I hope our team could successfully complete the future experiments and get grand prize.

Leon
Hi, my name is Leon. I am an ambitious young boy who is in over his head but dreams of becoming a doctor. I usually like to watch anime, play games and so on. I am a dreamer and often design my own gadgets at home. That is why i came to iGEM. I wanted to bring new things to biology in my own approach. I’m lucky enough to be part of the SCIE team. I met a lot of kindred spirits, and each of them brought me a new perspective on biochemistry. Finally, thank all of you for bringing different luster to my life!.

Sophia
Hi there~ It's Sophia here! As a passionate designer who is fascinated by the field of biology, I’ve taken on the role of being the team’s art leader who’s in charge of our visual delivery. iGEM has been so valuable to me as working on our project enabled me to realize and extend design into just so many areas! As well as offering me a chance to stand in the intersection between synthetic biology and the real world. Isn’t it thrilling to be able to work in the lab, design wiki and go on to the streets for interviews?! Lets follow our cute Prof. Celly to pursue the aesthetic of fast fashion in a sustainable way with FabRevivo!

Sophia

Danni
Hey guys! My name is Danni, a tenth grader in SCIE. I really enjoyed working with Dr. Celly and my teammates this year. Through those talented friends and my own effort, I realize that lab work in iGEM might be something I dream to major in. Well done my pals~ wish our project a great success!

Danni

Flora
Flora's coming! The noisiest and most social one on the team~. As the mother of the team, I participated in most parts of our project, looking forward to beholding the birth of Prof. Celly. Moving between HP and experiment, I gradually develop a deeper insight into fast fashion, acquire tons of valuable experience and knowledge, and forge firm friendships with my brilliant, talented and responsible teammates. Hope our enthusiasm and effort for Prof. Celly can make our slogan “Revive the fabric” realistic!

Flora

Ariane
Greetings! This is Ariane who misses Celly to be in her arms. The journey through iGEM has been great fun and deeply inspiring to me. I am glad and grateful to be working with the geniuses in our team, and to be motivated by the corporative atmosphere. Synthetic biology intrigued me to join, but I have also witnessed and experienced a lot more: the developments of ideas, the disappointing and overjoying moments in lab and at tour, the courageous attempts of something new, as well as the stars at late night...We’re the best and I look forward to our fantastic results!

Ariane

Nicole
Hello, My name is Nicole! I am very interested in the area of biochemistry, specifically genetics and synthetic biology. So I joined Greatbay_SCIE 2022 team and hope to contribute more to my team with my knowledge and efforts, hopefully we can make a contribution to the future of synthetic biology and the society. I think our project is a really brilliant idea that we can probably improve the environment issues and work out the problems with fast fashion. I am very happy to be a member of 2022 GreatBay_SCIE. I'm very excited about our experiments, so hope that succeeds as well. I’m sure our effort will not be in vain. Come to FabRevivo and see our project!

Nicole

Maggie
Hi! This is Maggie Li from 11th grade, SCIE. I have a love for sciences, and I transfer this passion into my motivation to study them both in school and during free time. Besides from science, I am also particularly interested in languages, and I plan to study other languages during summer holidays. My goal for joining SCIE is to learn lab skills as well as other biochemistry knowledge. I hope we will have a nice journey!

Maggie

Sophie
Hi! I'm Sophie, currently an A2 student at SCIE. In my spare time, I love hiking, watching musicals, and petting my dog. I really enjoyed participating in wet lab and HP in our team and it is such an honor to work with my talented teammates. I hope the best for GB_SCIE :)

Sophie

Eric
Hi everybody, this is Eric from SCIE. My hobbies are making plastic model and skateboarding. As a newbie to biochemistry competition, I will try my best to make contributions to GB SCIE, and I hope that Fab Revivo could save our Earth!

Eric

Hannah
Hello! I'm Hannah, a G2 student from SCIE. I like to play sports, video games, and learn random stuff from YouTube. After this year's deep dive into biology, I realized although I do love this field, I'm more interested in economics and business, so I will be working hard on trying to land our project in real-world settings. I am really happy that I was able to have this year of IGEM experience with all the 'learning gods' on the team!

Hannah

Tom
“Look at that guy, he must be one of those greasy discord mod who haven’t gone outside for at least one month.” I get those stereotypical comment on my physique every day. But instead of moderating an online chatting group, I prefer to moderate the genome of all those microorganisms and make them useful to humanity. As the student leader for the experimental parts of our project, my passion for synthetic biology also grows each day I spent in the lab. I can’t wait for the success of our project and achieving FabRevivo!

Tom

Cemol
Hi, this is Cemol from Greatbay_SCIE. I am responsible for (a little) wiki construction and lab work in the team. I thought I could contribute much to the technological part in our team, but it seems that I was wrong(╥╯^╰╥). I’m just a normal student being enthusiastic about Biochemistry, so barring accidents, I think I may dedicate myself to this course and be a scientist in the future.

Cemol

Nara
Hellooooo~ I am Nara, an internet surfer who is in love with classical music and musicals. For our project, I did experiments and some HP. It is such an amazing journey working with my remarkable teammates and making FabRevivo (somewhat) come true. Through working on FabRevivo, I am more aware of the problems caused by fast fashion. Now I always ask myself if I need a garment or just want one before deciding on buying clothes (maybe that’s because I see phantom Celly faces at the window whispering “save the planet, don't buy it” at me).

Nara

Sabrina
Hey, Sabrina here - greeting you with exceptionally dark eye circles and receding hairline. Anyway, I am truly, genuinely, and gratefully thankful for this four-lettered word (starts with an I and ends with an M, in the middle are two letters, G and E) that has been embedded in my life for half a year. As humble as I try to be, I am indeed the human practice leader of our team (probably the only one with the gut to endure laborious social interaction). Doing HP and thinking about it almost 24/7 these past months have prompted me to transition from a shy kid (200% introverted) to a bold socializing machine. Well, HP ultimately stands for more than just Happiness and Peace. After all, while helping out in our lab, I am glad to have acquired some beneficial skills that keep me from fainting in our co2-filled laboratory and I feel proud to declare that the pleasant smell of LB would be my top 1 pick - favorite perfume fragrance of the year.

Sabrina

Katie
Hi~ I am Katie, an A1 student from Shenzhen college of international education. I enjoy reading novels and listening soothing music in my spare time. Traveling is also a great way of relaxation for me. Being a member of GB SCIE offers me precious opportunity to meet many outstanding students who share similar interests and goals in biology with me. Participating in human practice and lab works in this year’s project also enable me to explore and develop lots of new skills. I sincerely hope that with the collective efforts of all team members, we can resolve the current problem with fast fashion using Fabrevivo!

Katie

Alison
Salut! I am Alison Wen, a member from GB_SCIE! I have lots of hobbies, for example playing the violin, learning languages, photography…and I especially like to travel around. This year it’s my pleasure to get acquainted with so many friends in the team, and I hope our project can achieve a good result :)

Alison

Picso
Hi there. I'm Zihuan Zhang, and I'm keen on life sciences, jazz music, humanities, and pigs. These things may seem unrelated, but to me they all share the resemblance of being inspiring, intricate, and cute. Despite being kind of introverted, I genuinely enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere in our team and the amusing dramas that happened as well. I'm proud to be a member of this fabulous group of people who are actively contriving to make some changes to this world, and I'm delighted that together we've created countless memorable moments.

Picso

Cindy
Oh my! Here you are finally! Thank you SO MUCH for reading this far! Seriously, words cannot express how much you mean to us. YOU ARE THE BEEEEST! Sorry? Oh right, this girl right here. Well, her name is Cindy (as you can see). She LOVES biology, lOvEs DoInG hUmAn PrAcTiCes, loves listening to Hiphop and Jazz, loves her friends, and wishes she could love reading. She has learned A LOT from this iGEM experience, including but not limited to: how to survive in the lab, how to be a last-minute warrior in battles with deadlines, and how to make 16 phone calls to textile recycling businesses in one day. And most importantly, she is the only person who starts a self-introduction with “Oh my!”. Deliberately written by Cindy (Yeah, that’s me).

Cindy

Tank
My name is Tank. We are just a piece of dust and sand on this sinful planet. Words containing hope can't really open up anything in this frozen world. However, when all people put these words, these lights, these hopes as useless. When all these shadows are intertwined, isn't that the source of the dirt on this earth? Yes, my friend, I am flummoxed. Every step is like a quagmire; in which direction should we go? I love biochem, by the way.

Tank

Jeffrey
Hello everyone, I'm Jeffrey Li. My hobbies are playing piano, cycling, and playing Table tennis. Of course, as an iGEMer, I am also interested in any knowledge related to biochemistry. Through iGEM, I hope to explore the world of biochemistry on a practical degree. By contributing to the project, I want to make the world a better place using Fab Revivo.

Jeffrey

Jeremy
I'm Jeremy, an A1 student from Shenzhen College of International Education. I hope that I can exert my best effort on the experimental part of this project, improve my ability in the experiment operations, strengthen my determination in the direction of Biochem/Molecular Biology, and explore the potential of other directions. Keep meristematic.

Jeremy

Kevin
Hello! I'm Kevin Wang, a 12th grader who is glad to join Greatbay_SCIE. My major interest in biology is biochemistry and molecular biology. Aside from academic interests, I like playing video games and listening to music in my spare time. I aim to improve my experimental techniques and learn new transferable skills through iGEM, and hopefully we could grow as a team!

Kevin

Roger
Hi, I am Roger. Believe or not, this photo is not what I look like now. Roger is one of Greatbay_SCIE's advisors, and he helped establishing the team in the beginning. Although he didn't get in touch with E.coli, S.cerevisae or K.max very much this year, he still guided the minions to work - by modelling. He is now fighting with terrifying monsters.

Roger

Connor
Greetings Earthling, I've been expecting you, another visitor to this little self introduction. My name is Connor Danger Zhao, as you can see, danger is my middle name. I have blessed the GB SCIE with my divine knowledge, skills and a touch of my [maybe bad] luck. When I first saw the previously 40 people team, I thought 'this may be too great of a sin'. This is why we only have 23 poor souls suffering rather than 40 (Completely made up). Now, my words have finished, be gone. I shall wait for the next visitor.

Connor

Cheng
My name is Cheng Yu. This year, I work as one of the advisors of Greatbay_SCIE. Actually, it is my second time participating iGEM competition. During these few months, not only did I fascinated by our talented teammates, I was mesmerized by the fabulous experiments, which were a series of ambitious works. The time elapses so quick, and I wish everyone in our team can get more fascinating insights from synthetic biology---the up-to-date subject, and find their future trajectories during this short period. Good Luck my fellows!

Cheng

Tanya
Hi guys, I'm Tanya. To be honest, it is weird for me to be here—I'm an iGEMer who applied for physics after being tortured by biology and was called to help set up the team and supervise the art designing part. A strange combination, right? So after all, I become the person who can only appreciate the work done by our team. It is my honour to be still here :)
