Our team contributed several new parts to the iGEM registry. Emerald GFP is a reporter derived from EGFP with mutations that are documented in the registry. We also added Estrogen Response Element as a form of measurement, and another part with double copies of the same. Our team additionally used 2 existing iGEM registry parts to create the composite part Human Estrogen Receptor expressed under T7 Promoter, which is a translational unit used in our project to make the oxybenzone sensor function. We used the parts BBa_I712074, a strong promoter from T7 bacteriophage, and BBa_J61100, a family member of ribosome binding sites. We also created a composite part using our own uploaded parts. This was an Oxybenzone Sensor, one that utilized part BBa_K4386001, or double copies of Estrogen Response Element, and BBa_K4386005, the Emerald GFP Reporter.
