Hi everyone! My name is Ziyu Li; you can call me Sharon. I'm a junior at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin, Texas. I enjoy reading and cooking; I play the piano and sing for the school choir. My favorite subjects are physics and biology. It's incredible to figure out how we human beings and the world operate.
I joined the iGEM competition because I welcome challenges. Implementing the entire procedure of an experiment is difficult, but teamwork and hard efforts have made it possible. During the competition, I got better problem-solving skills and knowledge of biology engineering. Also, I felt more responsible for society as I develop connections with the patients our project may help in the future.

Hello! I'm Dylan Li from First High School Of Changsha, Hunan. I like cycling because bikes give me access to trails and areas that cars can't reach. No one should not like the sense of adventure and exploration that comes with it. Guitar is one of my other passions, the reason is it will help keep my mind sharp and I am exercising that brain when I memorize a progression.
I was so interested in bioinformatics that I decided to take it as my major in college. So I tried to learn more about biology and computers in high school. In addition, I was fortunate to be the captain of the wet team, and I believe this is a good opportunity to improve myself. I am very confident that our team can achieve the best results. iGEM will be a wondrous and impressive journey in my life.

Hello everyone, my name is Yuan Xiaoyue and I am from Wuhan, Hubei. I am a 17-year-old lively girl who is currently studying at Wuhan Britain China School. I have hobbies of drawing and singing, and I am interested in mathematics and biology. I am honored to be part of iGem and to be part of this team. Participating in iGem was a new challenge for me. During this event, I hope to learn cooperation and leadership skills on top of my biological and mathematical skills. Also, I hope to learn about the work of a project other than academics through the work of the dry team. I will do my best to learn, do experiments deeply, and present our results well.

Hey everyone, my Chinese name is MaGeZhi, and you can call me George. I am currently studying at Beijing Huijia Private School, an IB international school in Beijing. At school, my two favorite subjects are biology and chemistry and this is why I signed up for this competition. In everyday life, my hobbies include running and riding a bike. Both of which require a lot of patience, which is definitely a quality that is needed when conducting biological experiments.
I chose to attend this competition because of my intrinsic love for biology and the wish to myself in ways including lab skills, computer programming, social skills, and more. Because I am not only very patient but also passionate and meticulous in detail, I have full confidence in myself and also my team. I hope we can all get satisfying outcomes.

Hi, I'm Margaret Du. I'm in grade eleven at the ISC of Chongqing Nankai Secondary School. I am really passionate for movies, from which I can experience others' life and learn about foreign cultures. Also, I am the leader of the ski team and am always responsible for organizing some training during vacations. I really enjoy the feeling of blowing wind from both sides of the cheek, swooping down from the top of a snowy mountain in several seconds.
I am especially interested in Biology and aspire to explore the enigmata in organisms. IGEM is such a fantastic competition that allows us to communicate with people with the same pursuit from all over the world. I am so glad to be an iGEMer, and I believe that I can gain a lot from this competition.

Halo~ Here is Michelle. I am a student in Chengdu Shude High School and I am now in grade 10. As all of you, I have a lot of hobbies, and some of them I insist on long time. I learned the dulcimer when I was 5 years old because I like folk music very much and this is also a kind of special-interest instrument.
For biology, the reason why I love biology is that I love animals when I was very young and I still remember my first dream is to be an animal keeper. But as I grow up, I find that the environment of our earth becomes worse and worse, which leads to some animals are not existed anymore, so I want to do research on these endangered animals because of the environment. I think the first thing to achieve my dream is try to learn as much biology knowledge as I can. I believe join iGEM can bring a lot for me besides academic knowledge, but the corporation and the skills of communications.

Tongying Wang
My name is Tongying Wang, currently a senior high school student in Wuhan-Britain China school. I am passionate about traveling because it can keep me away from the hustle and bustle of school life. Moreover, during traveling, I will learn about the local culture and communicate with different people. Besides, I like all kinds of animals. Though taking care of them may cost me a lot of time, I think it is worth it. I have to admit that caring for animals cultivates my sense of responsibility and makes it easier for me to empathize with others.
With a great interest in Mathematics and biology, I want to have a deeper understanding of the usage of genetic engineering. I expected that doctors can detect a patient's disease more accurately. Furthermore, I hope that patients can also reduce anxiety, and more actively cooperate with the treatment. Participating in IGEM was a unique experience for me. Not only did I achieve a great achievement during this process, but I also made so many friends with the same interest. By working together, I strongly feel the team spirit.
Alexandra Liu
Hello everyone! This is Alexandra Liu. I was deeply attracted by the iGEM competition because of its academic and teamwork section. The academic depth and hands-on experiments make me truly excited; the overlap of CS and engineering also draws my attention. Moreover, I really appreciate teamwork, since I can learn a lot from peers and build relationships with people who have the same interests. For future plans, I sincerely hope that I could major in biomedical.
Other than iGEM related, I am a big fan of sports. I do basketball, badminton, handball, and so on. Besides, I prefer debating, though I only started to debate when I was senior 1, I enjoy the process of researching new points and logically providing my rebuttals and arguments. I started to learn ethnic dance and attend related competition when I was 4 years old. The process of practing dance tought me to persevere on what I am doing. Also, the Chiese painting is one of my favorate habbits, it can help me calm down as I was drawing it.

I like to participate in various competitions and constantly challenge myself. Participated in AMC, physics bowl, Waterloo, Qiu Chengtong competition and iGEM competition.
I like to explore the secrets of science and technology. Now I am / intend to participate in the following competitions in the field of science and technology
——Qiu Chengtong (preliminary study on effective methods to solve superbacteria)

I have strong willpower - hiking and field exploration in the Gobi of Gansu Province (watching the sunrise at the foot of Mount Everest in Tibet, watching the great migration of animals in Kenya National Forest Park). The process is very hard.

I am XiaoLu Chang. I am now studying in Cambridge International High School of Wuhan Optics Valley. About myself I would like to say that I am not a versatile person, and my only interest may be to think about life . Being good at thinking has enabled me to go back from being a student at the bottom of junior high school to being a student at the top of senior high school all the time, and has also enabled me to win many academic awards in different subjects.
What's more, I found my favorite subject in the process of study, that is biology, especially the knowledge about genes. Whenever I see some mysteries and operating rules about human genes, I will sigh for these wonderful and ingenious things. So I learned about IGEM through the teacher's introduction. This is a team competition, the main target of our team is researching MDS. This competition will not only allow me to integrate into the team, but also provide a platform for me to do experiments . My name is Wenxin Chen (Wendy) and I am currently a senior at Wuhan British-China School. I am passionate about art because I believe that art is an all-encompassing form of expression that can ignore language barriers. I have joined clubs of sketch, illustration and visual arts. I have completed a one-minute hand-drawn film on my own for IBDP exhibition of personal project. Art has allowed me to experience the charm of creativity. In addition, I am good at underwater sports. I started swimming when I was 4 and have been exercising once a week since then. Also, I am going to get my scuba diving certification. I like to train with friends and to learn from each other; I enjoy practicing alone to improve myself as well.
I'm interested in everything about biology, especially marine biology, pathology and environmental science. I found that IGEM offers an opportunity to combine many aspects to study and explore. It includes a variety of subjects such as biology, computers, math, business, and art, allowing me to exercise both thinking and practical ability, collaborate with members, and develop comprehensively.
