Welcome to iGEM 2022

We are so excited to take you along our journey of discovery investigating water contamination and how we, as scientists, can help improve quality of life around the world.

Welcome to Wright State iGEM 2022

Synthetic Biology is at the forefront of science, welcoming new faces and voices to present ideas and engineer something new! Synthetic Biology as a whole has applications in numerous categories and its unique approach is set to impact the world. It is with great honor that we take part in that journey of scientific discovery and engineer something incredibly important to hopefully better the environment and the lasting effects of traditional conservation. We are so thankful for the opportunity, resources, and guidance we received from our mentors and other teams. It is a privilege to be a part of the iGEM community.

We would like to thank our mentors for their consistent support and guidance, along with our fellow iGEM-ers. Interacting with the iGEM community was a highlight of this year and helped us gain many invaluable experiences. Our first year has proven worthwhile and greatly expanded our realm of knowledge. We invite you to read about the work we did this year and the people we met along the way.

We are overjoyed to introduce you to our project "Deconta-Mn-ate", where we investigate the bound of synthetic biology by engineering a manganese sensitive biosensor. Check out our logos made by Emma Tetlak below!

We acknowledge our AFRL mentors along with the grant that sponsors us called BioBestD. We are so thankful for the opportunity we have been given as a team!
