Collaborations

The Alma iGEM team has had a long time relationship with the MSU iGEM team. Our schools are less than an hour away from each other, and in the past have worked with similar topics. Our teams wanted to continue this long relationship and work together this year. We decided at the end of the cycle to do a series of meetings teaching each other about the work we've done for the 2022 cycle. We planned to break all of our work into 4 different meetings building up to the Grand Jamboree.

Week 1:

We started by introducing ourselves and going over our projects, teaching MSU iGEM about our biosensor and us learning about their Bacteriophage. This was a good first meeting and gave us each a solid introduction to our projects.

Week 2:

The second week we went over the data and further dove into our projects. Talking about the specific science behind each of them, what they do and how they work. In addition we spoke about our work on human practices. Each of our teams meet with professors and experts in the fields of agriculture and aquatic toxicology respectfully.

Week 3:

We plan on having a meeting on Week 3 to talk about Wiki work, as many of our people are new to the Wiki process for iGEM we thought it would be fun for us to get together and talk about everything they have learned and advice going forward.

Week 4:

We plan on meeting on Week 4 to go over our presentations prior to the Grand Jamboree, doing a general presentation of each of our materials and giving each other feedback. As neither of our teams have been to an in-person jamboree before, we both decided it would be great to get some practice and advice prior to the Grand Jamboree.
